I don't really know much about prices for dj equipments but when it comes to production (synths especially) you're better off buying them from another country (even if it means paying shipping & customs).

depending on where your sister is in Canada at the moment might make a huge difference. I mean if she is in British Columbia, than maybe you should post in British Columbia forum. Or if she is in Ontario than people should tell you about the local places to buy equipment here, like Kid Lax mentioned Metro Sound, from what I hear they have the best prices all around this area.
