heh, they used to be mpeg files sumo that's why Trance Outlaw's askin'. it was only recently technodron decided to use the .class extension.

anyway, to rename in dos go into the directory of where your file is located and type:

ren oldname.oldextension newname.newextension

easy as pie.

i use to go into DOS and change the file names, but in DOS you are limited to an 8 character name...

you can also change file extensions in windows. you just have to go into explorer and click on the "View/folder options..." drop-down menu...then click on the "View" tab in the window that opens up. Next, uncheck the "Hide file extensions for known file types" then click "apply" and "ok." you should now be able to see all file extension in windows and you should be able to change them...i find this a lot easier.
