I just got a warning message from my firewallprog that an exe file in winamp tries to overwrite the orig exe file?
The file is called "winamp.exe.manifest" and is in the winamp catalog.
Check to see if you have it?

I get the winamp.exe.MANIFEST file immediately after uninstalling (or was it installing a new version??? I forget.) Winamp. Maybe you uninstalled, then installed, then uninstalled AGAIN? In this case, the original winamp.exe.MANIFEST WOULD be overwitten. Still, I always wondered what that MANIFEST file does anyway and why Winamp, in particular, creates it. No other program that I have creates a file like that. Why Winamp? What does the word "manifest" mean? Maybe that's a clue?
