Nukleuz DJs at Gas
In case anyone's interested, here's some stuff I wrote about New year's eve at Gas.
It was quite hot and reasonably crowded downstairs.
Boheme wasn't crowded but still had quite a few people.
The place was transformed in a number of ways. Most notable were the lasers, I haven't seen that many lasers in any club venue before... lasers in a club seems like a rare thing, and I wish it wasn't.
There were 4 seperate "boxes", each box containing 2 lasers, spread around the main room. It looked good when all of them were on. Boheme only had 2 lasers, but at least there were lasers in that room too. Also, there were the decorations that looked like fat silver curvy pipes... I guess they're meant to look like gas pipes. There were also giant lanterns hanging from the ceiling, they didn't have anything inside them but they seemed to have a good effect as the lasers were shot at them.
It did open a little late, but closed at around 8:10am, when Amber Savage finished.
My favourite set was Yoshi's, it was energetic and uplifting. I also like the uplifting trance that was played in Boheme and sometimes in the main Gas room. I didn't like most of the hard house. Nick Sentience's set was okay though, relative to the other hard house sets. Vixen played some nice uplifting tunes at the beginning.
Energy 52 - Cafe Del Mar (Marco V remix) was the first track for 2003.
Other tracks I remember were:
Megara vs DJ lee - Full intention
Steve Morley - Reincarnations
Euphonic - Sahara
BK and Nick Sentience - Flash
Signum - Cura me (katana remix) (?)
If you haven't got Euphonic - Sahara, you must get that track, it's an awesome uplifting tune! I just found out today what the track was called when I listened to the new Gatecrasher CDs called "resident transmission".
It was a good night. More uplifting trance would have made it better for me.
