Dog Running Making sounds...

I used to use my keyboard to create sounds, but it is very limited and annoying when trying to export them.
What program would you say makes the best sounds?
Thanks a bunch.

ehm, ofcourse there are the synthesizers, which are sort of keyboards, but u can make ur own sounds with them.
and then there are the so called software-synthesizers, which are simple said, software versions of hardware synthesizers
nowadays, the software synthesizers are allmost capable of doin the same things as hardware synthesizers.. so its a choice u got 2 make

Exclamation Greatest Sound

I work with Reason 2, and sometimes it's totally amazing what sounds the MALSTROM GRAINTABLE SYNTHESIZER can produce. And then if you add fx the real way, with SEND FX, you can make real professional sounding sounds. SO MANY TWEAKS on the MALSTROM, i just freakin'love it........ Thing is Reason2 is expensive, but there are so many VSTI plugins, that can create quality sounds..:

-Dreamstation
-FM7
-Pro52
- The Buzz machines

I'd say you'll just have to try some of these plugins or programs, but i stick with REASON2 and the MALSTROM

There are some excellent Buzz machines out there. Check out http://www.buzzmachines.com

You can use them with Buzz itself, and I believe with other programs as well.

Problem is, for synths (software or hardware) you are going to have to spend a lot of time messing with them before you can sit down in front of one and determine how nice a sound it can have.

Thanks for the help guys..

Also.. i know the limitations to my synth. While I can make phat sounds I dont want to be limited to just that.

Where can I get some of these Vsti programs? are they freeware or Rapeware?

Buzz is free, and so are any of the machines written for Buzz.

Fruity Loops and Reason are not, though they will probably be more user friendly.

Cubase and Logic will be even more expensive, though they are generally perceived to be better programs. This is not to say FL, Reason, or Buzz can't be used to produce excellent tracks, though.

Also, try searching for "free vst" here in the forums. Just recently there were a few threads about these.

You can probably just get Buzz and fool around. It comes with some really, really good machines. I don't know how much experience you have with synths or other aspects of production, but messing around with Buzz has helped me quite a lot.
