How did u learn using Reason?

i just got reason 2.0... ok... the program is so fucking (pardon) complicated!!! goddamn!!

Matrix sequencer is the most fucked up things ive ever seen... Im not saying it in a bad way, i wanna learn it..... i know its a professional program, and I know that its better then Fruitty Loops (that im currently using, if u wanna hear my production, theres one of them in "Amateur Djs")

ok....i made a bassline.....i made an arpeggio!! yay!! .... but, it sounds worse then fruitty's standart sounds.... wth...

Where do I start? what do I do? help me out guys, im desperate to learn Reason =)))

thanx in advance

reason is far too overcomplicated to be considered to be a professional program. its so fiddly to do what should be simple tasks.

logic audio platinum is the pros program. like it or lump it. its daunting at first cos you have to set it up to suit yourself after install but then it lets you get on with composing rather that wiring this bit to that bit and all that toyland shite!!! even the arrange window is a pain in the arse and that should be the easy bit!!!

do yourself a favour and fuck it off!! and remember...cubase is just as bad...too many floating/never on top windows to fuck about with!!

Learn one program and learn it well. Don't switch around with programs because someone claims this is more professional than that and blah blah blah. Fruity Loops, Reason, Buzz, Logic, Cubase, and probably many others will all get you where you want to go. You just need to (a) learn the program well enough, and (b) have the production skills necessary (which no program will help you get).

that seems to be your answer to every post of mine. without backing it up with any other words. youve managed a high output of tunes with reason then have you...

i guarantee if you started using logic you would never turn back to anything else...

..and in future if your gonna call my every post 'bullshit' at the least give it more than a few words cos thats just fucking lame... tell me what is so fucking special about reason....or cubase for that matter.

ive worked with these other programs and with people who have thought they were the bees knees.....until they got a look at logic.

you seem to have some problem with me that i dont quite understand.
i try to give people sound advice based on pitfalls and obstacles that i have overcome in my own search to make things easier for myself.

i didnt just slag off reason and cubase giving no reason(sic)for it.

if your gonna slag off my opinions....elaborate!!!

I think that most of the pros use logic because it is older...when they began to make music, they had no Reason...

I found on a German website about professionals using Reason:

CJ Stone used Reason, and German Album Charts Number leader Groenemeyer used it for his latest album ( no trance artist )...
then you also could name Airbase, doing everything in Reason...

Where do I start

Make a "New Song" and delete all devices and tracks except the mixer...Then create a subtractor. Now you see a single track in the track window. Just paint some single notes, make a loop and play with the knobs on the synth and add / remove notes. Add delay / reverb / flanger -devices to the synth and look how the sound changes. Play with the filter, make a longer loop, add a second subtractor or a NN19 sampler...just try it...

listen
THIS TRACK is made with Reason ...
