How Much Music is too Much Music??

Did you guys ever take a look at how many mp3's you have? I'm sure most of you have at least 100??

well, i just noticed that in my club/house/trance singles folder i have 4388 songs dating back to 1997, and totaling 40 gigs.

I also have 800 albums/livesets burned on cd's

and i was thinking to myself. why?

what am i going to do with this all when i'm older, married, real job, kids?

right now i have no idea what to do with all these gigs of music besides archive it and say 'yes! i got that track!'

anyone else have any plans of what to do with all their electronic music once their lives totally change??

I know what u mean, I have some 7500 mp3z here, all trance/prog/...
And I'm so proud of it, so happy with them.
When I'm older I can say to my kids, listen to daddy's music, that was the best music of my life, I used to listen alldays to it .
I will always listen to music, I think the feeling will go away when ur older, but u got them and that's what counts

Is that really what you want to do with your life?

Muff i know excatley what you mean.....

I collected live sets big time......then around September i looked at my cllection because i wanted to burn aLOT of them...mainly Tiesto of course....and i was like dam i have way too much.....i was reaching over 1,500 live sets and 2,000 singles ALL ON 56Krap....so i started thinking what i wanted to do....should i burn them...LOL....or jus archive them/....

Then October 18th came around and i went to see Tiesto again in NYC...but this time was different then the other times i saw him.....for soem reason i did not enjoy seeing Tiesto......

Thenext day i woke up and i said to myself..."i know why i didnt like seeing Tiesto last night"....it turns out i didnt like it because i barely knew what he was palying....unlke previous timesi saw him where i would know what he would play before he did...LOL...

So basically i was SO OBSESSED with collecting live sets and having every live set by every DJ i could find that i stopped enjoying Tiesto...who you all know is my fav DJ.....it wasnot like before when i would get a new Tiesto set and be happy.....it was all about getting as many sets from asmany DJs as i could.....

So i can say for "ME" collecting all that stuff mademe dislike trance and Tiesto.....so the night after seeing Tiesto in October after realizing why i didnt like seeing him...i started deleting all of my sets...(NOT TIESTO SETS)...jus setsfrom DJs i KNEW i could care less about...such as Taucher, Uhrmacher, Warmduscher, PVD, Scot, etc....DJs i never eveneliked in the first place.....then i went through my singles and basically got rid of all of them...

Collecting for me..well it was fu for a time...until i did not enjoy the music anymore....

NOW....i am back where i was before i had a super collection...i enjoy Tiesto again and look forward to new sets we all get.....right now i am only collecting Tiesto.....i can pretty much say i have the best Tiesto collection on the internet...which is cool in itself...but knowing i enjoy the music and appreciate Tiesto again is worth more then any amount of live sets from DJs that i dont even like....i am much happier now.,...even though my Tiesto collection is a little too big....but atleast i know enjoy Tiesto and am not collecting for the sake of collecting...

sorry for rambling...

You can never ever ever get enough muwahhahaha, and when youre older you will listen to the music and it will remind you of when you were young, thats what my dad does all the time with his oldies, wow that will be wierd when trance is considered "oldies" jolz

It's nuts

Somedays I download so much, that I don't where to begin. Listen to livesets or go through singles? Usually, I use livesets to get singles. Then once I have all the singles from sets, I delete the set since I now have better quality versions of the songs. Livesets are good to keep because even though you may have the singles you like from the livesets, you don't get the mixing or the crowd going nuts but to conserve space, I don't keep livesets. I started liking Trance in about 1997 but wasn't collecting music hard core until about 1999 so I guess I'm a rookie when it comes to a Trance collection. I only have about 500 Trance singles and remixes but I'm building it up and I ain't gonna stop......just as long as Trance doesn't

eh, ur right, when is this gonna end..? I'm kinda obsessed on downloading mp3 for the few last.. years. all the time on 56k paid by hour (so I only get like 2 or 3 connected each day). and still more than 6 GB

it's a pain in the ass to download livesets and mixed cd's though, i still haven't heard any of the magik cds for an example. must pray for broadband
