to all who think Sony v6 rules the world...

I love my pair, i actually still use them but only till i can get a new set of headphones.. anywho, yes v6 sound is great, maybe better for the home dj cuz they kinda can't play above club monitors w/o sounding like stereophonic farting. but i would never tell someone not to buy them, just know that this can happen to you.......but nothing a lil' tape can't fix!

yeah. I own the v6's also, they have fantasic sound, but on the downside they are so damn uncomfortable.. they hurt my ears after a couple hours of use. So I upgraded to the v700's and im glad I did it! sound quality isnt as good, but the extra bass helps me out sometimes when mixing, and I could wear em all day!

actually.. i had no problem w/ the v6 as comfort issue, i felt that the v700 were so bulky and heavy that they seemed to not sit nice on my head. maybe my head is shaped all fucked up but to me, the v700 are uncomfortable and sound is poor compared to the v6, but its all good cuz to each his own, if u like 'em, more power to yah. im getting the pioneer's (se-dj5000), and right now they on-sale for $99.99 @ musiciansfriend.com, i'd pricematch w/ pssl.com so i could go pickup and save on shipping (since i live in CA), but that also means i pay tax.. which comes out to basically same as shipping, so i might as well just get it from musician's friend.

haha i made an "educated guess"... from the pics, looked like some serious stress was placed on the swivels.

v6's weren't really designed as "dj-friendly" phones. i'm sure your pioneer's will be more satisfactory in terms of handling etc.
