What do you do? It really fucking hurts, my whole big toe's toenail is a deep blue. I know it's because of the glass baking dish that fell on it and caused it to fill up with blood. I've heard it will eventually fall of and have to grow back. That would really suck.

Anyone know?

Yes, the nail will eventually fall off, and grow back. All you can do is leave it alone and wait, and be sure not to take the nail off yourself, or touch it more than necessary for that matter, because as you've probably figured out it hurts like hell.

You should probably go see a doctor. He'll probably burn a tiny hole in the toenail, which won't hurt any more than the pressure anyway to drain the blood.

Chances are pretty good it will fall off after a while, but it'll actually hurt less once it does. Don't worry about it too much, it's not a serious problem. But you should see a doctor, because it can be bad for you if too much pressure builds up underneath the toenail.

I had that happen to two of my nails when i had the door shut on my foot when i was without shoes on I was only like 5, so I FREAKED!!! All i remember is that it really hurt but eventually they fell off and new ones grew back, for some reason they grew in smaller though

That's happened to my thumbs a couple of times: goddamn that shit causes some pain. Basically it's just a bruise. Arbiter is right though, if you've got a lot of bleeding in a confined space like say, under your toenail.. there is a chance it will pop a corner of your nail off, and it can get infected pretty easily in a moist environment like your shoe. It's better to get an MD to drill a hole in it / put a dressing on it, that way you know it's sterile, and not sitting around in direct contact with your stinky ass socks.
