Hi, What are your opinion on the Numark 3002 Mixer?
Will it go along with the CMX3000? .... is it overall a good mixer?
Thanks

Re: Thinking of getting CMX3000+NUMARK3002 or VMX300?

Hello guys. I am aspiring to be a NEW DJ
Im thinking of getting the Pioneer CMX3000 (DUAL CD PLAYER). My friend told me he has a friend who owns it and is kind of complaining that it is a lousy cd player. I am not sure if what he means by lousy. I have seen what the CMX3000 can do and it is really nice. Any Inputs here guys?
As for the mixer , the DJM3000 is way above my budget. I have heard that if i get a pioneer i should only get a pioneer mixer. Is that true? .. heard that if you get a different mixer then the player's brand the audio will sound awful. Not sure if that is true
Can someone recommend me on mixers to get? ... i only need a 3channel mixer. My budget is about USD300 for a mixer. One of the shop in singapore recommended me to get the Berhinger VMX 300 . she said that is a pretty good mixer. it looks nice, i dont really like the DJM300 .. its too ugly looking for me and besides it a few hundreds bucks more then the VMX300. How about the Numark 3002? .. it looks good too.
PS : the equipment i am getting is only for home use.
Thanks in advance guys. |
Hi,
I don't think you can go wrong for the price of the Behringer models. One thing you may not know - the VMX200 has phone and line in for each channel, switchable on the front panel of the mixer. This means you could hypothetically hook up two turntables and two CDJs to a two channel mixer, whereas you would normally need a four channel mixer to do the same.
The VMX300 has the same feature, but with 3 channels. I just bought the VMX200, and I don't think you'll find a single mixer that's better for $250 CND, thought it's questionable if it's worthwhile to buy the VMX300 model for $100 more. That's even still pretty good for a 3 channel mixer.
On the topic of keeping all your hardware the same brand name, sorry, but that's bullshit. The others posting above have valid points if there are proprietary connections available between the Pioneer CDJs and Pioneer mixers for things like start/stop automation. But for audio alone, brand name doesn't necessarily determine your quality, and equipment definately doesn't have to all be the same brandname.
With that argument, everyone would need to use a Technics mixer with Technics turntables.

ehehe.. you are right. So you think banging my bucks on a CMX3000 and a VMX300 would be a wise choice to go for ? ....
