New Cue file tutorial

Here we go as i've finally learned how to use the spiffy and mysterious cue file which i'm sure most of you already know and have mastered how to use it. It took me at least 4 months to figure it all out and a good amount of help from a fellow TA named GlobalMusik from Israel, i'd like to give a shout out to him for all his help and thank you.
Here is the tutorial:
(I'm going to try to simplify it as much as possible so its easy to understand.)

Introduction:
1.First finish downloading the live set/cd or whatever that you are downloading.
2. Make a cue file for the cd or download it from, http://www.trancecues.com
3. Make sure the cue file is in the same directory and folder as the mp3/wav.
4. [B]You must convert the mp3 into a wave file for it to work in nero.
5. For lengthy sets ie., that total up to 120 min. etc. you must spilt the mp3/wav in two parts, each part must be able to burn onto each 74-80 min. cd-rs.
6. Make a seperate cue file for each part.
6. From what i've found is that cue files only work in Nero and Cdrwin, use these two programs since they are the best. I've found that nero works better for it.

Converting the Mp3 into a wave file:
1. Use a program such as Winamp to convert the mp3 into a wav file
1)Load the mp3 into the winamp program
2)don't play the mp3 yet if it starts to play press stop
3)Right click/Left Click on the farthest north-western corner of the winamp window program.(depending on your winamp skin there should be a diamond or a little button there. Click on that.
4)Next go into Options.
5)Click on preferences
6)Then you should see a box that says on the left side Setup, Options, Plugins, Skins, and bookmarks.
7) Under plugins click on output
8)Then double click on Nullsoft dis kwriter plug in v. 1 (x86)
9)From there you should see a box that says: Select a directory for wav. outputthis is where you're converted mp3 into wav. file will be located for future use. Select your folder of choice. And then hit ok.
10)Once you've done that play the file in your winamp and it should play at a fast speed. No audio will be heard during this time period and it usually takes a few minutes. You can watch it's progress until it finishes.
11)Once it is finished go back into the options menu and into preferences and then output and click on Null soft wav out plug-in. There should open up another box and click ok.(winamp should work fine now playing mp3s and such normally and not sped up.)
12)Go into the file directory where you chose to store the wav file that you just converted. Play it to see if it is working.
13)Now you have sucessfully converted the mp3 file into a wav. and its useable in both Nero and Cdrwin.

Splitting the wav file into two parts.
(do this if it is necessary) in order to fit each separate part onto each cd.
1. Use a program that splits wav/mp3 files. To find a program that does this do a search on http://www.download.com in the mp3 section and download that program and follow its instructions.

Making a Cue file:
1. Name the cue file exactly the same as the wave file.[U]For this you can just copy and past the name of the file to the cue file.
Here is an example of the wave file name: Paul van Dyk - Live at Cream@Amnesia, Ibiza.wav(this is the same as the name in the cue file.
This is the way your cue file should look:
PERFORMER "Paul Van Dyk"
TITLE "Paul van Dyk - Live at Cream@Amnesia, Ibiza Part 1"
FILE "Paul van Dyk - Live at Cream@Amnesia, Ibiza.wav" WAVE
TRACK 01 AUDIO
INDEX 01 00:00:00
TRACK 02 AUDIO
TITLE "The Bass Tarts - Summer In Space"
INDEX 01 01:08:00
TRACK 03 AUDIO
TITLE "Klea - Tic Toc (Paul van Dyk Rework)"
INDEX 01 07:17:00
TRACK 04 AUDIO
TITLE "040 Feat. Erica Baxter - Dreams (Remix)"
INDEX 01 12:10:00
TRACK 05 AUDIO

TITLE "Armin van Buuren - Sunburn"
INDEX 01 37:59:00
TRACK 10 AUDIO
TITLE "Oceanforce - Euphoric Dream (Oceanforce Mix)"
INDEX 01 42:13:00
2. Use notepad to open to cue file to check for any errors and to edit them.
3. Once you're sure about the cue file save it as the same file as the wav. for example: Paul van Dyk - Live at Cream@Amnesia, Ibiza.wav.cue
4.Make sure the cue file is saved in the same directory/folder as the wave file.
5. For the remaining part of the liveset use a seperate cue file and name for ex;PERFORMER "Paul van Dyk"
TITLE "Paul van Dyk - Live at Cream@Amnesia, Ibiza Part2"
FILE "Paul van Dyk - Live at Cream@Amnesia, Ibiza.wav" WAVE
TRACK 01 AUDIO

TRACK 10 AUDIO

Opening the cue files in Nero:
1.Open the nero burning rom program
2.It should have a pop up box showing the nero wizard, click cancel on it.
3. Click on file, then click burn image.
4. Locate the directory where you put the cue file in and click on it and hit open.
5.) have your cd-r in the cd-recordable drive.
6.Then you should get a box that says write cd, click write and you're ready to burn!!!! Do this for each cue file.

If anyone has anything to add to this or corrections you can pm me. or post something. Have fun and enjoy i hope this helps out. Thanx again to GlobalMusik for his help. Later

just my 2 cents

thanks for that info, bro.

just my 2 cents :

1) you can convert mp3 --> wav easier using programs such as cdex.
2) if you're too lazy to edit the cue file in notepad there's a winamp plugin called 'mp3cue' which is very easy to use.

enjoy!
