Ok, here's the situation.

I have an allergy to cats. I also have a cat who is always around me, she even sleeps beside me every night. I usually have allergic reactions when I am around her for awhile.. The reactions arn't very severe, but they are not mild either.

My parents keep bugging me about this, saying I'll develope asthma sooner or later because of it. I asked them if they have any proof of this, and they don't.

My question is, will I really develope asthma from experiencing my allergy symptoms frequently?

the type of allergy you have is respitory...
it will give you symptoms like aasthma but its not...
asthma and allergies are related tho so maybe you should talk to a doctor and he will prolly give you an inhaler of some sort...

I talked to my doctor and he just said to take Reactin.

What Im trying to ask here is, is it possible that this allergy will develope into asthma?? (unfortunately I forgot to ask him this )

I dunno, i have allergies to my cats too, but all i do is take a reactin, and i'm good for a few hours.

I've never heard about it leading to asthma, but of course, i havn't been listening for it either.

My point is, I have no clue, so my post is pointless.

i dont believe it can turn into asthma...
i just believe that you get symptoms like asthma..
ive had allergies....respitory and food allergies all my life, have you ever considered taking shots for it? i took them for 11 years, im no longer allergic to animals...
just everything else..lol trees, grass...most fruits...ima mess lol
be lucky its just cats lol

Cat hair
Dog hair
Feathers
Ragweed
Grass
Dust
Milk and all dairly related products (not lactose intollerant)
Caffine (including coffee and soft drinks)
Chocolate
Bananas
Peanuts
Cucumbers
Peppers
Tuna

shots suck cuz u normally gotta go every week....it was just a pain in my ass but they are really small so u dont feel them...i had 2 in each arm...

I see, the one's I'd get I have to go once a month for 4 months or somehting, so it's not that bad.

hmm...how is that supposed to work...
cuz what your getting a shot of is what your allergic to...to build up your immunity to the things your allergic to...so i would think a more gradual approach over a time period lasting longer than just four months would be needed....
but who knows....lol i hope it works..
