Question Goa Mixing???

I don't really listen to much Goa (because it's not really what I like), but some is interesting. I was wondering, how come on Goa mix Cd's and livesets, its not really mixed

Most of the time when I hear long goa sets/mixes, its either mixed on the very very last beats of the song, or in some cases not even really mixed at all. Perhaps a Goa fan can clue me in on this.

So far I have one theory. The only Goa Mix I've ever heard that was mixed like a trance set was Paul Oakenfold - A Voyage Into Trance. That CD has to be one of the worst trance CD's ever, and maybe thats a prime example of why you shouldn't try to mix Goa. Any other ideas?

Behold...The Answer!!

Goa trance is not traditionally mixed on vinyl because of it's place of origin. You see, goa trance parties that originated in the Goa region of India were on beaches in the baking sun, so hot that it would melt vinyl. Also other places where goa is popular, like Israel, it can be too hot for vinyl at beach parties and whatever. So, they often perform their sets almost "live" with their synths, samplers, computer, drum machines, guitars, bongos etc... Not really conducive to mixing. Some goa is mixed, like astral and yahel. But these guys aren't really DJs I don't think, they just spin to promote their shit...that's as much as I know. If I'm misguided someone let me know. I personally like my trance mixed. That's one reason it's hard for me to go back to listening to other types of music after becoming a tranceaddict, I love the non-stop music..sort of takes you on a journey.

maybe it was the worst mixed CD ever, but the track selection is nice. That and it's one of the 3 or 4 goa CD's you can actually buy in the USA.

omg!!! no!!!! voyage into trance kicks arse!!!!
i keeeeeeeeell j00!!!!!!!!!

and back to the original question
i think what drewfactor said is right, and also i think some of it is not really produced with mixing in mind. some sets are played off dat tapes or something so they cant actually mix. i think the essential mix by man with no name was done on dat tape so it isnt actually mixed. so yeah, because of where it originated i guess, and what the producers had in mind.

Oakenfold has nothing to do with Voyage into Trance tho.
The recordcompany put together a mix and put his name on it, from
what Ive heard he didnt want to do it.
