Heya.. ill bein tampa for the Gasparilla Day Parade Jan 31-Feb 2. I was wondering if anything good was going on that weekend... besides roaming the streets of Ybor for 2 solid nights.... any suggestions?

me being the TampaTA spokesperson,... ill have to say that if you haven't gone to Gasparilla before then you are in for a big suprise,... but to what you said,... that friday night,-have a really really chill night, no drinking and go to bed early,...trust me you'll realize why when the next day comes,... ok Saturday get up fairly early for a Sat. say 9~10ish, and be drinking by 1 at the latest,...ok Saturday is up to you, but be on bayshore North of Rome. ave. (its where the median of grass on the Bayshore moves to the water side) up to the bridges to downtown,.. ok that will probably last you till dark,... then when the sun goes down,... you will probably be all dirty and sweaty and drunk,... im sure channelside (right next to the arena) will be jamming lots of bars and some places to hang out by the water,... or be brave and venture to Ybor,.. Ybor should be fun but it will probably be ungodly packed,.. but if you go there right at about sunset and get a parkign spot early then you should be ok,... but just being in Ybor should be fun enough, lots of bars and clubs to choose from, but sorry there will be no trance, lots of breaks and hip-hop thats about it,...
if you are gonna risk the friday night, i would guess Ybor to be pretty hyped then as well, b/c those are the true party animals that can go a night and then pick up agian the next day b/c the parade starts at 130ish,... any other specific questions please feel free to ask, ive lived here my whole life and have done many different aspects of Gasparilla,.... oh one of the best things to do at the very end is to go to Village Inn resturant on Dale Mabry at like 2~3am,... its absolutly packed and could even have an hour wait,... its so fun b/c everybody has beads on and is drunk and its just one big happy place,... ok thats my spchiel on it,.. hope that helps..

Flo? You interested in going to Gasparilla? I'm not sure if I will have the money together or not but if Melissa and Arturo & Brent are gonna be there we could make this a non-Trance meetup, of sorts.

man look what i just started!!! heheh heres my deal.. i went to USF so i have hit up just about every gasparilla and guavaween since '96. i chose to go to the day parade this year because last year at the night parade i was getting chased by girls gone wild film crews, molested by high school boys, and groped by dirty old men. i like the fact that i can still see the streets in ybor on the weekend of the day parade. i have not yet been to channelside yet i hear its not bad. friday night i just may hit up blue martini at the international mall or if i am feeling frisky maybe go to stormans in clearwater for some ladies night action... if that place is even still open!!!! ill be at the parade with my crew (arturo ill be there with my girl kathy and my friends julie and ray.. going to meet my tampa friends too and im staying in hyde park)... and then sat night im sure ill be over at bar tampa or amphitheater... my beads are ready and i can't wait!

and by the way.... i have had my share of moments at the village inn darlin.....

I never got to go to gasparilla when I lived down there (had to work). I heard lots of crazy stories though.
