wasn't his fault. I was near the stage, and in Indio there was a crazy gust of wind. I felt so damn bad, cause he seriously tried everything to stop the wind from knocking out the needles. btw: it wasn't 2 train wrecks, more like 4-5. The needles were all over the place, skipping and jumping. All I can say is that Oaks set kicked major ass. He played my fav song, Solar Stone - Seven Cities (V-Ones Living Cities Mix). actually, I never heard this remix before, but when I heard that one part..OMG, i was on the floor! This was my first time seeing oakenfold, and despite all the messing up due to the FREAKIN wind, I have to say that he puts on a hell of a show. He left 30 mins early, and I don't blame him, he must have been embarrased. I know I would be.

7 cities is a great tune but its mad old. A top DJ shouldn't trainwreck 4-5x.

How can he still be Ur God...If your first experience seeing him live was horrible? A top DJ should play upfront new tunes not resort to old classics to please the crowd.

No, I wasn't there. I'm not argue w/u bout whether Oakie is a god or not. It's unnecessary...he's still playing tunes from 97. He's stuck in a time warp.

Ugh ... i hate to come to the defense of oakey but keep in mind a lot of DJ's ocassionally throw in the odd classic every now and then. Tiesto has played Seven Cities in some of his sets and played Gouryella at Dimension. Paul Van Dyk has played A LOT of old tunes as well in his sets. It's not a bad thing unless the DJ is afraid to experiment with new music and just plays the classics all the time.

Oakie is predictable...he plays the same tunes all the time. He doesn't take risks & play NEW records. He relies on classics & anthems. He's a crowd pleaser. His sound hasn't evolved..he sounds the same as he did in 97.
