What does N.Korea want the US to do, bomb them?

http://story.news.yahoo.com/news?tm..._fighter_jet_11

Looks like N.Korea is starting to walk a thin line and Bush is not the type to back down. Much like the little skinny kid taunting the biggest kid in the playground.

Did you all bother to read into N. Korea and its army?

They have the 3rd largest standing army, around 1 million. They could level Seoul and kill easily 100,000's of people in a matter of hours from the start of any war.

N. Korea has more special forces than the US and Britain combined.

If a war erupted there it would be a huge mess, and there would be likely half a million casualties if nobody used nukes.. If nukes were used you would see 1 million easy.

The reason everyone deals carefully with N. Korea is for the same reason everyone deals with China carefully; they both posses large armies and it would be a devastating war if one were to start.

There is no doubt N. Korea would lose any war it got into, the problem is it would be a devastating war if it erupted.

Did you guys know that the only reason the United States doesn't adopt the landmine ban is because of N. Korea? It's rather interesting actually, there are under 40,000 US troops along the dmz, probably an equal number of S. Koreans, and the only other thing between them and the million plus N. Koreans are the tens of thousands of land mines across the dmz. I detest land mines but in this scenario they actually appear to be doing some good.

Yeah and for good reason they don't want to remove those landmines

But I believe South Korea has a standing army of 500,000 although I don't know how many of that is active and reservists.

North Korea starts another reactor, seemingly to spite Colin Powell who said that they had not yet done this and that it would be a very serious act if they did... Powell gets on his plane and when he gets off he hears the N Koreans just turned on the reactor

Can anyone say "Saber rattling?

very true. thats why we are ostrasizing iraq for having weapons of mass destruction, while N. Korea is waltzing around telling everyone it has nuclear weapons.
A war with N. Korea would be absolutly horrible.
I think right now N. Korea knows this and is taking advantage of the situation with Iraq to flex its muscle and show the US that it can do whatever it wants.
