When did BT start to play as a DJ not a live act? I've seen him advertising DJ sets before and I know he's more so a producer/live act, I just need to know how long he's been DJ'ing for.

when did he start? recently.
need a more exact answer...fuck if i know.
i do know that about 3 years ago he was talking about how he knew how to dj, but preferred not to. he was PAing back then and i saw him. the show was great, so this dj thing makes me skeptical, but then again he can get more exposure at clubs djing. his pa act was a bit more like a rock tour...thus not as in demand in a club setting|

when he first started, he just played records
he used to claim that he wasnt a dj
(he was on the audiophile thing on TechTv about a year ago and they showed this.. they also had him show you how to make a track)

Yeah he starting touring as a dj lil over 2 years ago...but now most of his sets are hybrid sets where he includes his laptop/vinyl/and cd's....I must say the first time i saw bt live dj he trainwrecked pretty bad....but then i saw him like 5 months later and he was fucking awesome...I mean no comparison to some of the big djs but he had a awesome sound that was a mix of nuskool breaks and house i was totaly impressed.

I had heard horrible things about His DJ sets, but decided to go see him anyways.
whoah am I ever glad I went.
BT was wicked when I saw him(Oct 31 2002)
He started progish played trancey went into some breaks and come back out with epic. It was fuckin nuts, his connection with the crowd was great, his beatmatching was laboured but he can do it. It wasnt pretty, but ya..I didnt hear him fuck up much at all.(acceptable 2 second issues every now and then)
so ya..I think hes been touring as a DJ for just over 2 years now.
I have his Essential Mix from Washington, DC (1997 i think) and while there isn't a whole hell of a lot of beatmatching going on the set is mint. A nice mixture of songs and a nice flow.
