I had them when I just started. But after about 6 months it was losing sound quality and started to distort.

You get what you pay for, in this case.

Go for the top-of-the-line (a/k/a most expensive) model in that line whenever possible.

big dave, before you say they are pretty clear, you should *really* make an effort to listen to some audiophile-approved headphones... you know, get some headphones for another purpose (portable CD, md, whatever), and go ask at head-fi.org for something that is clear sounding and sounds good... whatever your budget, it should compare well, and probably even sound better than your IXOS headphones... which are normally thought to be quite muddy amongst the audiophile crowd...

well they do the job for me and sound good compared to my last headphones i had! and i really couldnt go wrong for £25 could i?!

i dont play out so i was looking for the basic functions: durability, sound and half decent looks which they do!

i wasnt really bothered about a top of the range pair that are gonna skin me out of £100 as i dont play out!

You're right, of course. I was speaking of a slightly different concept, however.. not looking for a "top of the line" pair, but instead looking at a different line alltogether, for different uses. Never mind, though. There are headphones as tools for monitoring, and there are headphones for enjoyment, you know?
