my friend has the same problem.. the doctors told him he could have an operation done where they shorten the muscle so there would be more tension on keeping the arm in..

there is offcourse another alternative.. chop the whole arm off.. no arm = no dislocation. i will perform that operation for free if you'd like me to.
the drummer from def leppard has only got one arm.

this all reminds me of that xfiles episode where these people got something injected in their arms somewhere in russia. this one family chopped of their son's arm. as they said "no arm, no test", only with a cool russian/english accent

go to the doctors, my brother did the same but with his knee and never saw the doctors until he went in for a tackle and dislocated his whole knee

as others have said go to a doctor and have him recommend you a specialist, he will take an MRI scan of your shoulder and determine if you have a severe tear or not, since you have said this has happened several times you probably need surgery since the chance of rehabilitation on its own decreases if it happens more than once.

Now in my particular situation, I dislocated my shoulder about 3 years ago playing football (the american kind), it then happened 2 more times over the course of that year, in the offseason I rested it for 6 months doing nothing but everyday stuff with it, then I worked hard on strengthening all the muscles around it for the rest of the year until the new season began and I never had such a problem again.

IF your arm dislocates when doing simple activities what does that tell you?

It tells me that you need surgery...and do while you are young...

no matter what exercises you do ...it wont help...if within 6 weeks your shoulder does not recover from a injury using physio then surgery is the only rational option

take it from a fitness professional go see a good surgeon


you will be happy when you get it fixed
