Congratulations to Julian Reynolds (aka Jules) who has won his heat for the DJ competition in Melbourne. Jules rocked it on Friday night at Bass Station and was up against some pretty tough competition but he proved to be the better man (which we all already knew right?) and now goes into the next round which is in 3 weeks if I remember correctly!
Good luck for the next phase and a big CONGRATULATIONS to Jules - soon to be Australia's latest export superstar DJ

thanks Meghan for your support and thanks to everyone that made it donw to bass station to cheer me on. Just to let everyone know bass station is primarily a hard trance club and I am playing a bit of a different sound (more uplifting). So those of you that would like to see more of this sound please (I would greatly appreciate it) come and cheer me on. Here are the details....
The final will take place on Friday the 02/05/03. The three competition finalists will all be tested in this way. Each will be required to play a one hour verses set against one of Bass Stations best residents on the main stage during peak time. We feel this is the highest pressure environment we can imagine to test the finalists in! We will be looking to see who really can, in this situation, cut it, mix up, work with, fit in, display their talents and rise to a level worthy of making them eligible to join the elite Bass Station/ Sound Of Now DJ team!!!
Times and sets will be structured like this.
1:00-2:00 TRISTAN MASON VS FINALIST 1
2:00-3:00 MASTER KAOS VS FINALIST 2
3:00-4:00 JASON MIDRO VS FINALIST 3
The winner will be announced at 5:00am on the night!!!
There you go people....sounds intense dosent it!!!!!!!!
Just wondering though what the deal is Jules, if you're playing more uplifting trance and you get paired against midro?

if i get Midro I will just have to adjust my style a bit but I find that the uplifting and banging stuff works well (it worked when I played with Nexus at Kandy) so hopefully it will work as well. But I think the answer is to always take a big box of records sothat interpreting what to play isnt as difficult. Fingers crossed though...
congratulations maybe one day you can make it over to perth and provide us with some trance.
