Does anyone know what sort of negative effects it has

Check www.erowid.org, for the best info. All I know is it has a sharp dose-response curve so it's easy to overdose.

I've read all that stuff but i would like to know what people personally feel is the negative side.

well...this is very sensitive for me. But, i have had my drink spiked with GHB before. it's a long story, and i don't want to get into that part of it, but i'll tell you how it made me feel. after i learned i had been drugged, i immediately felt light headed, like extremely dizzy. i stumbled to the bathroom to throw up where i swear to God, half of my organs must have come up (sorry to be gross). after that, i was trying to get back home (and i lived about 2 blocks from the bar). my friend and i were walking home, and all i remember is leaving at around 1:30, and just falling literally about 10-15 times in one block alone. i just couldn't stand up. the next thing i knew, i woke up in an ambulance and it was 3:30 in the morning. i had completely blacked out for 2 hrs, and couldnt remember anything. my roommate told me i was unconscious and throwing up, but i have no recollection of any of it. it was by far the worst night in my life, and to anyone who takes it for recreation (it affects guys different than girls), DONT. that drug is some scary shit and i'm shaking just thinking back to that night.

i've done it recreationally before
if you do decide to try it, i can't stress this enough
DO NOT DRINK ANY ALCOHOL!!

it's effects are kinda similar to alcohol
you get that lowered inhibitions feeling at low doses
but at higher doses it can lead to unconciousness and even death

take small doses at one time and wait at least an hour before even contemplating taking any more

it's very easy to OD
your best bet is to just stay away from it

I don't know much about GHB but I saw someone OD from it. She was foaming at the mouth. She passed out and later stopped breathing. I didn't know her but it was pretty upsetting.

You're wrong there I'm afraid.
GHB is far safer physically than pills, and safer mentally than trips.
GHB is actually one of the healthiest drugs out there.

There are no after-effects, its fairly cheap, and makes a nice change from various other extra-curicular activities

Admittedly, its not a club drug, more for houseparties with friends, its like being drunk, but without alcohols annoying side-effects.

Like any drug, moderation is the key, I do it far more infrequently than pills or trips, but it makes a nice change of pace.

GHB is very very dangerous shit and should be avoided like the plague.

Oh and kr00t0n you must be joking if you think GHB is safer than pills.
