Mixing Techniques

What types of different techniques do you other dj's use to actually mix the new song in once its beat matched. Im sure there are many different ones use for different songs...but name a few. For example:

bring the cued up song in with all the bass cut...after about 8 or 16 measure instantly bring the bass full in while cutting the base on the old song.

...or do you mostly try to fad the bass in?
what about messing with the highs and mids?
or do you tease the bass on every 4th beat???

Id just like to get some more ideas i might not have thought of, or ones that other people think work rather well.

When mixing I usually don't really focus on certain procedures and templates how to bring in the track because every track requires a different approach. Just experiment and see what sounds good.

I agree.. there are many ways of using the eq to mix.. best is to experiment cos sometimes eqing too much will sound shitty sometimes!

i like this one:
throw in the new song with the bass cut and count:
1 2 3 4 1 2 3 4
1 2 3 4 1 2 3 4
1 2 3 4 1 2 3 4
1 2 3 4 . . . .

after the 7th "4" you cut or fade the bass out of the playing song and after the . . . . you fully throw the bass of the new song in.
works very good i think and tiesto and cor fijneman think the same

but it isnt the only way...

Don't Focus on other peoples mixing techniques, try your own,
that's the only way you will get feeling for it...

(however, if you do want to try other peoples, try this

Using the two bass cut knobs ( or buttons )
switch between kicks in a song, just play around with them,
and find out what is cool, I like to just switch them on every kick,
like 1 switch 2 switch 3 switch and so on...
