Interesting radio interview - iraq ex-pat. vs peace 'protestor'

very interesting radio interview between an iraqi who recently emmigrated to the united states and a female peace 'protestor'. it's in mp3 format, and it is 2.41mb, running for around 6 minutes

here's the link:
http://komo1000news.com/audio/kvi_aircheck_031003.mp3

dont read below to avoid mini-spoiler

it's interesting to hear that she didnt really have a clue and couldn't formulate a coherant response. it leaves the mind thinking, just how many peace protestors out of the 'millions' that are supposedly against the war, actually have a real grasp on the issue. i am sure many of the political forum regulars will be able to bring up various rebuttals to the iraqi's statements/views, however it is very difficult to counter the aspect that he is one of the ppl in which this war directly affects. it's all well and good for us to sit here and debate it, however it's not really our homeland that's in the middle of drastic change.

anyway, reply and discuss, it'll be interesting to hear some views on this.

Be Cool!

Most people who protest know that there are to many questionable actions and motives by the gov to support a war. There have been hundreds of very valid suported points made. However Very few valid and supported points are made to support war.

There are always people who dont know what they stand for and sound stupid on both sides of every argument. Using one example is not really grounds to dismis millions of peoples views world wide.

However this isnt worth discussing because the gov does what it wants regardless of opinion. It knows more than anyone else does pro and anti war combined as it tells us nothing to beggin with.

The interviewer asks how exactly will leaving Saddamn in Power promote peace and justice in iraq.

The answer is it doesnt. However, neither does the US attacking. Either option will leave people dead, and it's very hard to tell what will happen longterm now that the US has attacked. It's equally hard to determine what the future of iraq would have been, if saddamn had been left in power.

this is not the point though. The point It is not the place of the USA to decide what countries need liberating, and then to ignore international opinion when it does not agree.

My outrage at the war stems from the unilateral use of force by the US and UK, the ignorance of the reprecussions throughout the middle east, and my strong feelings that this war is more about securing oil (not to mention keeping rivals from securing it as well).

The man on this clip has a valid point, but it does not mean that we should have attacked.
