1200s vs PDT-6000

lookin at buying Gemini PDT-6000 soon just wondering if they are as good as technics because they have a better wow & flutter (pdt6000=.01 1200s=.02 if i remember right) then technics, the torque is also higher it is 3.0 kg/cm and they have a bunch of other features (that will probably never be used)the price looks awesome for all you get ($300 @ pssl.com)
check them out below and go to page 6 for specifications http://www.geminidj.com/manuals/english/11PDT6000e.pdf

correct me if i am wrong but i was under the impression that wow & Flutter was how much the record strays from a certain pitch or speed while spinning

Alot of ppl are gonna hate me for saying this... but yes, technics is loosing its standard in TT's... And they're gonna hate me even more when i say that the gemini is indeed better(but it is true, more features, and higher torque)...

Simple test: Knock on the turntables gently (as if knocking on a door).

If it rings hollow, don't buy it. If it clunks, it may be okay (i.e. very solid Technics).

I too was skeptical about the "Technics or death" type feelings that many DJs expressed here, but THEY ARE WORTH EVERY SINGLE PENNY!

listen man there is no doubt in my mind if i had the money i would buy technics but i do think that people in my situation (sorry bout the speellin i am drunk a fuck) need to have an econmically sound solution and i truly believe that the pdt 600 or even the pt2100 are a sounds solution.. technics if i could afford thats what i would be spinning on but i can't and i like to be creative so i am gonna go for the pdt6000 that out perform the technics.oh and by the way i am almost positive that the pdt6000 are not a plastic frame because they way 36 pounds. fuyck man i'll finsh theis tomorro.peacve out!

Well I'm gonna purchase an new tt one of these days, and I prefer the PTD-6000 over the Technics. I've heard nothing but positive thins about it. It's at least as good as the technics, but waaaay cheaper and with alot more features.

We all need to keep in mind that the technics are a little bit dated... I mean, they were designed in the '70ies... Back then, some of us were still liquid!

Well, I have no idea really, but going on everything I've read + having a quick go on them, I am definitely getting Technics

Reason: I want something thats gonna last a whole career if I get good enough to spin out and earn some moolah With Technics you have that guarantee, with Gemini, you don't... as far as I know, Gemini have mainly made low end tables before, correct me if I'm wrong.

I choose Technics solely on the fact that 90% of clubs use Technics. The day they change to Turntable X, is the day I switch too.

is it just me or is everyone's reason for buying technics decks "from what I've read, everyone says get technics"
