Help needed: The Official Clubbers Hand Signals (long post)
Got this idea while dancing in a club. Some of my friends and me think we're really cool (I know we aren't) cause we ID tracks during the live set after the first two beats. Anyway we started devising a handsignal language partly based on the skydiving signals in order not to shout all the time one at each others' ears. Some signals are obvious and widely used, some are arent. Let's formalize this (RFC).
Making pictures to demonstrate the signals would be cool, but i haven't got the time.
All signals a prefixed with the attention signal, as used in the army (index and middle fingers in a V formation towards yours eyes while the other fingers are folded).
"Go for it, this chick is hot": Thumb up(?)
"Forget it, this chick is a minger/she's way out of your league":
First option: A hand with all fingers straight and tight pointing towards your neck while waving right and left.
Second option: all fingers closed except the index drawing a line across your throat from one side to the other (the "i'll kill ya" sign).
"A huge chick just past me by": both hands infront abit below shoulder line, one doing the stop signal and the other the come here signal (fingers tight together, folding an opening together) like when signalling an APC/tank to move to the right (or a traffic warden signaling traffic - whatever).
"An amazing chick just past me by": One hand at waist level shaking from side to side
"Let's go get some drinks": One hand closed to fist except thumb and pinky, thumb pointing towards mouth, pinky upwards.
"Relocate": Hand fisted except index which is pointing upwards and rotating
"Bathroom break": ?
"Give me a ciggy": Several fingers (two minimum) parallel to the ground touching your lips in a holding a cigarette fasion.
"...And a light please": Well duh
"Car keys please": ?
"Know this tune, wait for positive ID":
Option 1: The wait signal - One hand infront of your body
pic
Option2: The chillin' signal - all fingers fisted except index and pinky slightly shaken in a rotating fashion
"Know this tune, too pissed to remember ID": lazy legs sign?
"Know this tune, definite ID": The pull signal - Hand fisted with the index straight parallel to your body and pointing upwards in 45 degrees.
"Don't know this tune, gotta have it!": ?
"What a shitty song": The cutaway signal - fists closed, like punching some midget trying to touch your dick, first with the right hand and then with left
Any suggestions?
P.S.: signaling should be done discretely and judiciously so we don't look like TOTAL dorks...
