I discovered a love for electronic music quite early and I used to listen to eurodance when I was younger -- y'know, the real stuff... Emjay, La Bouche, Real McCoy, Haddaway, etc.
Then I heard stuff like Robert Miles and even Eiffel 65 and thought "this is cool". I didn't know what it was but I liked it. One day I found Atomic Dance Explosion on MP3.com (I'm sure I'm not the only one) and I knew at that time I'd found the music I wanted to listen to.
After that I spent a good period browsing MP3.com, discovering what sounds I liked, what I didn't like. Once I got Napster on a friend's recommendation the game was on and I came across, through various means, artists like Blank & Jones, ATB, System F, Rank 1, Gouryella, PvD, Tiesto, Chicane, DJ Sakin, etc. Since then my taste has expanded and become refined somewhat but I can't see myself ever completely abandoning my trance roots.
