HappyHappy Chris Liebing @ Arc ***review***

i am dead. chris killed me. schranz on the phazon is pure heaven.

i missed most of mauro's set but stayed for Chris's entire set. IT was really great...he was his usual animated self and he really worked the system. It was amazing. He played the salsa song and some tracks I heard at AWAKENINGS but naturally I can't trainspot at all. He encored with some mix of Michael Jackson - Billi Jean. It was hot.

He came on late...I guess Mauro did too...so it was a little after 4:30 when the party started. He spun till 8 and kept a good crowd the whole time. BUT it just wasn't the same as seeing him in Europe (for me, personally). Although I guess it makes sense that he would have a stronger connection with his own people on his own turf.

I might have to hit up Tronic on Monday!

Nice to see Matt/TAUB!!! Finally! After, what? ummm....7 months?! Anyway, not many TAs running around. John & Michelle, of course, a few newbies and familiar faces as well. Seeing Daphna was cool too! Last night was definitely WAY different than any other night at Arc for me.

Where were Greg and Caryn? And Rick? I can't believe you guys weren't there. Schranz isn't Schranz without the LORD OF THE SCHRANZ!

Umm...I got my flyer signed and was happy. Now I am dead and am going to the beach. Hopefully Matt can name some tracks...I damn sure can't!

Fond thoughts and hugs going out to Andreas whom I sorely missed and thought of often.

For what he does he seemed to be the best at it technically. No record skipping like Jules, or fucking up on a live remix like Hawtin, or having zero to negative flow like Howells.

This man knew what he was doing.

My thoughts on shranz.

As I told michelle around 5 am, Liebing's style sounds like Sasha on speed. He had the same beat pattern but just sped the bpm up alot. He played Ton Tb's Electronic Malfunction.

I will let michelle comment on the back room .

Glad to see a good ta turn out!

Bobby made his return to arc after a several month hiatus lol. He has a good time.

Did everyone hear that sick track he droped around 6 am. He had this hard beat going and then he would throw this sound over it. The sound made everyone go wild. It was like an Electronic Wind

Liebing was great at what he did.

Piccoto sounded like he was doing techno remixes of church songs with alot of organs in them .

Glad you guys had fun with grinning Chris

And you didn't see Greg and Caryn? Can't believe they weren't there.

drizzt81, where were you?

As for the music, be a bit careful with the term "Schranz". Not everything Chris plays is necessarily Schranz. It it hard to define in words and it took me a while to develop a feel for it so I can identify it when I hear it. I guess that is to say go back to see Chris (and others like Adam Beyer, Cari Lekebusch, Gaetano Parisio) as often as you can

thanks for the ID! I meant to verify it after mayday and never did.

and Andreas, as for the Schranz term, I know what you mean. But I use the word Schranz for lack of anything better. I just don't know what he plays. I am oblivious. But I like it. one day i will learn. that's what YOU GUYS ARE FOR!!!!!
