OK, my Bf is 4 years older than me, and a lot of people gave me heat about it when we first started dating. It isn't as big a difference as the people you are referring to, but I was asked what I was thinking at the time, and for me personally, it had A LOT to do with the maturity levels. As we all know, most women mature quicker than men, and so guys relatively close to their age aren't at the same leval in maturity, which just sucks when it comes to relationships. However, the people you are referring to are a lot higher in age difference, which I don't totally get. Maybe it's the thrill of saying "I'm with a 25 year old guy! WOW look at me!" Who knows...
I don't agree with it, since after (like you said) 5 or 6 years the maturity levels are rarely on equal levels, and where people are in their lives are completely different, and hard to work with. I mean, a girl still in highschool and a guy who is starting a career after finishing college, I mean, they have nothing in common, and when she hits her partying point, he will be at his wanting to get settled down point. That conflicts with each other. I guess people are just dumb LOL!

hmm..... speaking from experience...
I was 20 when I started dating my X... she was 15... But she didn't look it, didn't act it, and sure her mind was way behind her age. She was a cool person to be around. Sure, she had her fits of immaturity but all in all, I did not notice the age difference. My friends made jokes of me and even called me "craddle robber" or "pedo" or "child molester"... but it didn't matter, they knew that she was "exception to the rule"... For her, the trade off was a guy with a steady job, living in his own apartment, able to take her out not to BK or MacDonalds but to a classy joint. Guy who was able to "spoil" her. I dunno about "experience" part, coz' it our relationship wasn't 100% based on physical side of things. We broke up because I knew what I wanted, to get married - she wasn't ready. She wanted to finish college, get a career, a very ambitious person who sometimes didn't make our relationship as much of a priority as her studies. Those girls are hard to find... We went our own way and we're still friends but the surprising part was that after we broke up she started dating a guy who was 28! I was 23 at the time... So I asked myself the same question: "What the fcuk!?"... Even found myself quoting Adam Sandler from "Big Daddy" - my favorite quote "His old balls.... just hanging" LOL
anywho... that was not the first time too! I had another long term relationship with a girl my age in highschool.. We went out for 2.5 years and after we broke up she started seeing a 28 year old geezer, her being 18 at the time... So, I know what you're feelin'...
I guess what a girl wants is a guy who's confident and sure of himself.. A guy who is not on an emotional/hormonal rollercoaster, guided by his little head. If you're in that "mature" category, you're ahead of the curve.
Sure, romance and love are great but it sucks when you can't take your girl out to a nice restaurant coz' your mom cut your allowance off. Some girls want a guy who has been through several relationships and knows what to expect. They usually are out of their hormonal stage and are more reasonable and able to put up with more of thier childish bullshit. Keep in mind that most chicks look for a "father figure" in their man. It's kinda hard to fill that category if you're the same age. Besides, a girl wants to be envied by her friends... When I used to pull up to pick up my X in a nice luxury car her friends were green with envy.... Hate to say it but "money talks..." sad? -yes... true? definitely... no matter how much you wnat to believe that "money can't buy you love" trust me, as the guy who didn't always have the leisure of spoling his GF, not having dough sucks.. you may not be able to buy love but it sure helps.
Don't take my word though, it's not "one size fits all" case... some chix don't care about nice dates out on the town, they care about how they are treated and how man behaves.
And finally... physical part does play a big role... No matter how experienced in bed you think you are, you do get better as you get older.. You know what to do and know what not to do... so, to some that are willing to take the risk of being chareged with a statuatory rape the rewards are, how should I say it... a girl that hasn't been "spoiled" yet... Gross, I know... thank lord I am married and I can look back at that time and have a nice chuckle.. But trust me, for girl, dating an older guy is better than for a guy dating a younger girl... Sometimes the bs you have to put up with is not worth it.
Don't worry... You'll reach that age soon enough and then you can look back and say "who would want to date a 15 year old?" Believe me, it's not as great as you think it is.
Oh and finally... it helps if you have the looks too. Sometimes getting in shape is the key, coz' physical attraction is all about the looks.
good luck, young Jedi! ))))

I've been in love for 3 years now with a girl we met on holiday, she lived 5 hours away tho, and was 14, i was 18, and I dont see nothing wrong, we didnt do anything we shouldn't and split cos of the distance, but 3 years on we're still in love, and maybe when shes 20 or something then it might be easier for a chance, like when her folks cant boss her bout etc, but age is only a number, if u really fall for someone, u can't help their age, it just happens

Girls need to realize one thing and stop being naive (dont know if you belong in that category but here it goes).
Usually when a guy is nice to you, being understanding and so on, he wants to get inside your pants. The difference between young and old men are that the later have more skills in the art of missleading girls. Of course, if you ask your boyfriend if this is the case, he will answere no. Well thats bullshit pretty much, although its sympathetic bullshit.
