hello ladies and gents. there is a girl whom i know who i have had my eye on for quite sometime now. we met in English class (which blew chunks) and we exchanged each others email adresses. we also signed each others yearbooks, each writing our phone numbers in them. recently, ( 1 day ago ) we went to see a movie, as friends. now, i would really like to ask her out, and i'd like to do it in a way that is cool and confident, not hoping she will date me out of pity.
i have thought of one scenario. she told me she was single about a month ago. to my knowledge i think she still is single. my plan is:

the next time we do something i shall be all like "hey are you still single" and she will be all like "yes/no". if no, i shall say "good for you". if yes, i shall be all like "how would you like to not be single anymore, and date me?"

corny maybe, but hopefully it will work. i would appreciate any advice anybody could give me. as well, all the girls on TA please respond, as your input is Key!

Girls are not so dumb ... if she says yes than you can just ask her out to dinner or to go out and she'll get the idea. No need to be captain obvious about it. Subtelty goes a long way.

well, we've already gone to a movie, as friends. so if i ask her, "yeah wanna do this, that, then etc." she may think that it'll be on the same terms as teh first time. therefor if i make a move then, it'll creep her out because she may still think we're on a "friends level". so i gotta make it a little obvious..know what i mean?
