Above and Beyond Review @ The Sound Emporium

Well me and Orzone got inside as soon as the doors opened, I was blown away by the sound setup, it was very very nice. We headed to the VIP area got some drinks chilled there for a while and then headed to the dance floor. At the time the dance floor was pretty good, everyone could dance freely without bumping into others. Then it started to get pretty bad. Lots of people walking through, pushing away and a lot of them weren't even saying a simple sorry. then there was this whole train thing (10 or so people just walking hanging on to each other and pushing everyone. I am not a violent person but I felt like punching someone. One guy who walked by elbowed me in my stomach so I couldn't take it anymore. Went to the VIP room DJ booth and enjoyed the music there...
Great music by the way, the bass was a bit overdone though

Just got home, 5:50am...

Dj Goldfinger.....YOU ROCKED MY FRIEND!!!! I could not believe the set you spun....incredible!!!! I was quite suprised that a opening Dj would put so much energy in his set....nothing but top quality epic trance....THANK YOU!!

Above & Beyond.....AMAZING SET!!! the bass did get to me after a while but the music was awesome...all in all heaven for any epic trance fanatic....like me!!

Brett I expect you to do the tracklist as usuall....awesome hanging out with you man...watching you dance just gives me energy!!

I did recognize quite a few tracks but I am too tired to list them right now...

P.S. Kati, I am sorry you did not come, I hope you can understand my situation that I am going through right now.
I left the club past 5 so you probably would not have been too happy about that...

P.P.S. I wont complain about anything but Orkidea was much better as far as the crowd is concerned....more friendly people at Orkidea...

Time for some sleep,

Discount Bargain Review:

Arrived late due to circumstances beyond my control ..

Venuooo

Setup was very nice. Far exceed my expectations actually since I didn't know what to expect having never seen the renovations made to Turbo before, but wow was it nice. Hansolo (Brett) had told me that the part of the setup was especially done for this event. I personally thought it was a lot better than the Systems main room given the fact that both are relatively almost equal size, actually I would say Systems is about 3/4 but they're comparable.

DJ Goldfinger openned with a stellar set as already mentioned and got the crowd going nice. Fav track was the Madonna - Die Another Day remix..

Above and Beyond

Goodness.. trance that uplifting should be made illegal. Someone could get high from being sober. I'm not gonna bother ID'n all the tracks since I know someone else will prolly do it (and a better one at that), but the set was everything you could want in a full trance set. Only Paavo spun tonite amongst the 3, thanks to DJ Nemesis for the heads up on that since I didn't know what to expect. But seriously, if just one of them could do what they did last nite than seeing all 3 would be sheer insanity.

Hightlight track of the night:
Ayumi Hamasaki - M (Above and Beyond Remix)

Itikia, I dunno if you actually remembered to request this choon for me, but nonetheless now you know why I was flailing my arms at you on stage when Paavo dropped this sick choon ..

Anyways, great set for a great nite. Gotta chance to meetup and talk to Paavo after his set. Totally cool guy, friendly and down to earth. Also got him to sign a flyer for Endlesswave and pimped out Tranceaddict of course ..

The Crowd

Where would we be without TA ! I'm not gonna divulge into this.. but I give you all permission to use the "A" word ..
Anyways, I've found that after time you just have to ignore factors that will only ruin your nite and focus on the positive aspects of the whole experience. TOTA massive ownz, no doubt about that. We took over the front and never looked back..

For those of you who know, the great wall of TOTA will be in full effect next time!

Overall

Great night. Great DJ. Great set in a nice club. And above all, partying it up with great people! Special thanks to Temporal Rhythm & Turbo Parties for putting on an amazing party. Totally needed this dose of trance. Guess I now hav something to do now on Thurs and Sun nites ..

Note:

Sorry to the after party crew for our early departure but we had to avoid a possible UGLY scenario with Mama Maronitis' wrath of fury on DJ KURFEW aka. ENDLESSWAVE since we didn't want this poor 24 year old kiddo's head posted thru a skewer on ur next Greek Kebob.

- time for long hot shower and then bed ..

cheers!

All I have to say, is that from the second I walked in, the music blew me away, and it didn't let up untill I left.

Never heard Goldfinger before, but I will definitely be hearing more of him in the future....
Very happy to hear Die Another Day (Tiesto Rmx)

Above & Beyond dj, Paavo was beyond what I even imagined. Played some that I was expecting (Summer Sun, Sky Falls Down) and a shit load of tracks I've never heard before. He had the TA posse bangin' hard!!

I hope Paavo's Toronto debut will be followed up very soon....his mixing was outstanding. Frankly, much better than Tiesto! This is how a trance dj should be.

Long live the afterparty

Once again, the tranceaddict vibe helped push the night over the scale. Peace to all...

Rich

Started the night by chilling outside of Turbo with a bunch of TAs.

Got inside to hear a bit too many big name songs by Goldfinger. This guy does have the potential to play on an international level I think, but the fact that he was playing these songs before A&B came on was just ridiculous. First of all, it was waaaaaaaaaay too much trance for the night, and secondly, when I go to a trance event, I don't want to go "ohhhhhh shit! I KNOW THIS ONE" as soon as I walk into the door. If I go crazy I look like an idiot.

A&B then came on with some soft uplifting trance. Not exactly my cup of tea, but they did play a few good tracks.

Goldfinger came back on and starting delivering some HARD trance, which made me happy. I wish it was like that the whole night .

A few things that killed my night

#1 - Fucking TD Bank. These bastards don't understand the meaning of $20 LIMIT ON A FUCKING ATM IS RIDICULOUS I have been up there THREE times already and they still haven't got their heads to REMOVE IT! So I had to be a bum and get drinks off of other people, who will be repayed next time

#2 My damn shoes have to be changed. These things really kill my feet LoL.

Big ups to the TOTA after party crew, drinking at 9.30am was chillin and jokes.

Shoutouts to all the TOTA regulars.

See you all at Edgar V.

Just woke up. I must say I really enjoyed myself last night.

The club was set up nicely, and seeing how it was my first time there I really didn't know what to expect, but was pleasantly susrprised nonetheless.

The crowd sucked, the vibe was there...but it could have been better. I loved when people pushed me out of their way to stand in my place for 2 secs and then push me away again to leave - some people are such incosiderate f*cks. The guy with the whistle sounded like a dying tweety bird, and I just wanted to finish him off...

The music - OMG . That was a lot of trance. That was nothing but trance. Music was pure bliss. Both DJs rocked, but it's especially nice when a DJ has that much energy behind the decks, gets the crowd going much more

Overall it would've been a perfect party minus some of the crowd .
