Thumbs up Gabriel & Dresden @ Glow REVIEW

so
who else got owned?

mmm, great night, Gabriel & Dresden rocked!
Dave took the decks first at 12 with Annie Lennox - Pavement Cracks (Gabriel & Dresden Remix) and alternated with Josh to play a gourgeous set till 4am.

Motorcycle - Deep Breathe Love...fucking great wonderful tune. A little less anthemish than ATRC, but absolutely beautiful thanks for honoring us with it's debut guys!

other tunes I rememberrrrred:

On A High (G&D Love From Humboldt Dub)
Carrera 2 (g&d remix)
ATRC (Sweeping Strings) mixed into ATRC (Armin van Buuren remix)
Beautiful Things (Josh Gabriel Mix)
Beautiful Things (G&D Unplugged Mix)
A Break In the Clouds
ELEVATION - CLEAR BLUE w00t!!!
Summer Calling (airwave club mix)
Dave Gahan - only when I need you (g&d remix)
mass effect - alphascan
One for the Road
Solar Stone - Release
junkie xl - beauty never fades extension
Josh Gabriel - Alive (Club mix) << requested by moi!
Southern Sun (g&d unpluggd mix) was the last song of the night

Glad to see sooooooooo many TAs there...too many to rember reallY! I was talking to Dave & Josh about how many TAs came out to see them, and then I walk outside, NO ONE IS LEFT....wtf, why did all you guys dip out? we coulda taken a massive group pic with G&D
anyhoo, I will post my pic with them on here when its uploaded.

oh man...I passed up the chance to go back to G&D's hotel, cuz I wanted my gf to be with me, so instead I drove back to her house...how gay am I?

Josh and Dave are some of the coolest & nicest guys Ive met , I hope they come back this way again soon!

PS: I don't want to hear one single thing about trainwrecks or their mixing, because, looking out at all of you from the DJ booth all I saw were happy grinning faces and people goin nuts and dancin their asses off

i only heard 1 shady mix early in their set but freal, last night was crazy. When they first came on and played a coupla songs i wasnt feelin their vibe untill they pumped the bass and killed the place the whole entire night. Their openin dj dave sampson (sp?), was fucking off the hook and to top it off, he played PQM - YOU ARE SLEEPING.
I came into the club anticipating that G&D were gonna play a chill set but instead i got owned.

Good job G&D!!! must come back to Glow

oh yea and i forgot to mention . . . . .

all i gotta say is that i went ape nutz when they dropped mass effect - alphascan. CRAZYYYY

Night was sweet. Were a couple off mixes but nothing that killed it to bad. They were feeling the set and the crowd for sure, and that makes a big dif. They were always dancing and pointing at people, not to mention they had like 100 people behind the booth dancing around at one point and were loving it. The energy was high throughout and the crowd was one of the best iv seen there in a while. Prob due to the massive amount of TAs packed in, good job of representing. Overall sweet ass nite, anyone that showed up and didn't have a good time is crazy. There was always room to dance (Unless you were around that huge purple monster, dude had no idea that he was smashing everone around him)

Also respect to all the new TAs I met i don't remember peoples names ever, but you were all cool(I was dude in the VANDIT shirt.) Also the regulars Busy(GET CRUNK)child, Tranceeyes, Beema. Was going to wait outside, but when i got there nobody els was around so it wouldn't have been much of a group picture. Anyway its only 12 so I think Ill pass back out now, hopefully I wont hurt so much later.
G&D owned, good times, good times.

OMG. I had fun

I just got back home a few minutes ago, since I stayed at hotel in DC. But holy shit...G&D rocked the house! Some of the tracks I remember them playing were:

Dave Gahan - I Need You
Markus Schulz presents Elevation - Clear Blue
Duncan Shiek - I'm on a high
All four? or two? remixes of Andain - Beautiful Things
Two remixes of Motorcycle - As the rush comes
Motorcycle - Deep Breathe Love
Attention Deficit - What?

Deep Breathe love was -ok-. It didn't have much energy as As The Rush Comes in my opinion. Although, I'm sure it will grow on me once I hear it a lot more. It was good though!!!

Dan Simpson owned too! Just like Busy Child said, "He dropped PQM - Sleeping", omg...I died when I heard that. I didn't think he would drop that track. I'm glad he did! I saw a few people taking video and pictures...who was that and will it be posted? I want to check them out! I know both Josh & Dave were holding the video camera. It was great meeting a lot of the TA's from the board! Hope to meet again!

Me, Ryan (Mebot), Josh Gabriel, Matt, Dave Dresden

I'm starting to think we should take group pics before the show instead of afterwards, cause when it's all over, everyone just looks like crapola

wow!! what an awesome night! i was so pleased with the crowds energy and ability to absolutely go crazy!! josh and dave all in all were great. so what if they cant mix flawlessly? hell, its better than i can say! but they are so good to see live because they play tracks that other dj's havent touched...i died during:

pavement cracks (i knew they were gonna open with it frank!! )
as the rush comes (sweeping strings) mixed into armins rmx
one for the road
junkie xl- beauty never fades
andain- summer calling (airwave club)
andain- beautiful things (both unplugged & joshs rmx)
and of course...

the new motorcycle track- deep breath love

people are saying that it wasnt that great...but honestly, i cannot get it out of my head. the vocals in the beginning ("deeep breath love....deep breath love") just keep replaying in my mind. it is definitely different from ATRC, which is good in my opinion. it has that same deep, dark and sexy feel and the vocalist is the same as in ATRC. i remember it being very trancey at first and then breaks down to very dancey at the end...i think more so than ATRC.

great seeing all the ta's: you know who you are

joel, dave- thank you for saving me and my friends from ogres, rapists, and scary monsters!! had a blast with you two

i must say i think g&d were better when i saw them in NY...i think i wasnt too into the 15 mins sets that they kept switching on and off to. i liked how in ny it was like 2 hrs for gabriel, 2 for dresden...etc. it was a little choppy, but still great nonetheless.

till next time ya'll!!
