As hilarious as that play was, and as happy as I am that it happened, it is a no brainer to mention that Alex Gonzales's error caused far more damage then that fan did.

The guy did not interfere, but it's blatantly obvious that Moises Alou had a chance to get that ball. If he had gotten that ball, that would've been an out and the circumstances of the game would have been totally different at the time, probably leading to a very different outcome....
The guy was wearing headphones and probably did not hear everyone screaming "NOOOOOO" at him. He deserves what he's getting right now. If Florida wins today, this guy should fear for his life and I feel very sorry for him.....

OBVIOUSLY it was his fault that gonzales messed up that play later in the inning. OBVIOUSLY it was his fault that prior self-destructed. OBVIOUSLY it was his fault that the cubs didn't make it a 5-game series in the first place. and OBVIOUSLY that 8th inning self-destruction wednesday was his fault.
anyone who blames anything on this guy is either stupid or being a horrible person. granted, as a sox fan, i want to buy him dinner, but i feel so so bad for him. the freakin governor of illinois has come out in public to call him 'stupid' for doing something anyone would do in that situation. go watch highlights of guys making catches in foul territory, or home runs, or whatever - how many people are getting out of the way? slim to none.
ugh i could go on and on but this is just stupid. go white sox. |
wtf, this is a joke i copy/pasted from another board. yeah, i'm an idiot for doing that .
anyways, yeah, it wasn't his fault, but it's legit to say that that play led to a change of momentum in the game, eventually leading to the Marlins rally.
you seem to take this so personal, jesus. i didn't know bartman was a TA . GO YANKEES!
