Thats one reason I dont buy CD cause they all come in mixes..That sux cause you have to hear the CD in the same order...then the end of each song is interrupted by the next song...

-Once you try trance, nothing else stands a chance.

I don't like the mixes on CD's either. But when a Dj performs live, I truely appreciate his mixing-skills.

I usually get mixes to see which songs I like and enjoy the skill of the DJ... then I go out and download the unmixed versions of songs I like to listen to seperately

Depends on the tracks, some are better unmixed in an album.

But most of the time I think it degrades an album of awesome tracks, if it isn't mixed.

For instance, the Cream Live album (red cover - 2000) is an incredible album, but if it wasn't mixed it wouldn't be nearly as good.

I agree, it depends on the CD. I have this one CD, 23am by Robert Miles and it's crazy... the tracks sound like they should be mixed together, but there's a pause between each one... it's weird.

I agree fully with trance[]control-fan, and I was very dissapointed when I bought the Picotto album and found out that all the trax was mixed. It would have been a killer album otherwise

I agree with a bit of both sides here... When u buy a good mix cd its great to sit and listen and enjoy the skillz of the dj (my faves are always the clubbers guide to... ones coz they nearly all done by julesy!) but in other albums there aint no need for mixing. Artist albums i think should be left sequenced, whereas the dj cd's always always have to be mixed else it'd b pants.

Paul van Dyk's older album (vorsprung dyk teknik) had the best idea... he had two mixed cd's and one sequenced, that was the album that got me into trance i think!

Of course there are exceptions according cd-mixes.
Personally I love the mixing skills of Valencia & Christopher.
I mentioned them before on this forum. Has anybody ever heard of them?, because I tink they are pretty unknown. If you have the possibility, try downloading a mix of them from napster. You are not very likely to find a mix, but if you do, download it. Contact me for tracklists and tell me if you like Valencia & Christophers' mixing.

Well, if the whole CD is like a single trak, that I don't like. But there are remixes that do seem a new trak! only the good guys in the biz can do it though!

I think you're all crazy! mixes are what it's all about! how can you say that it ruins a cd??? and what do you expect when you buy a cd from Mauro Picotto? HE'S A DJ!!! It's what he does! how can he get credit for just 'compiling' a cd instead of mixing it?? that doesn't take any talent. how can any of you say that you like any certain dj if you don't like mixes??? it doesn't make any sense to me. my 2 cents
