As a mixer, Tiga is far from sucking. I was at Sona when he did the no headphone gig. That was amazing. If you don't appreciate techno than it is understandable, but I didn't hear any bad mixes (something that I can't say is true for Mr Oakenfold)
What was wrong with Genie?, the start of his set was a bit more techish, but slowly he got to more and more progressive stuff, dropping tracks like Bedrock - Voices. I was really into it and was dancing all along.
I must disagree with delstar about oakenfold, all I found that Oakenfold did was drop big track after big track, especially at the end of his set. He is NOT in the same league as say Paul Van Dyk or Tiesto, who are truely trance DJs. Not
I think I've said this before, but I wouldn't mind seeing Oakenfold again, provided he was playing for a home crowd, he would show his real talent there instead of playing what people want to hear, beacuse honnestly I was sick of hearing some of the tracks that he spun (although the crowd went *WILD* for CJ Bolland's - The Prophet)sorta like Max Graham must play different away from town than he does at Sona or Atomic.
The crowd wasn't great, when I saw tiesto or pvd earlier this year, when they both dropped Das Glockenspiel by Shiller, the crowd was much more into it. At Oasis, the crowd didn't really budge.
Trance has not invaded Montreal, which is a good thing is a way.. since Montreal can be seen as different as the rest of the USA.
I'm also very happy about the increased no drug security, no dealers (that I saw), and less E trippers at 3am (big change from last year @ Oasis if anyoen remembers!)
I also was really impressed by the visuals that 514 did, things like the star wars spaceships to scenes from Planet of the apes. They must of had a shit load of stock footage, it never repeated itself all night.
I probably could of stayed later, I left at 8am, but my friends were tired (no drugs and all!)..

there was BARELY ANY pot at that rave.. usually I come out of the rave full of that stench. But there was like BARELY ZERO pot there.. the drug situation was top notch, I was amazed!
