heya!
l have just beet at mp3.com and found out that there is a reconstruction going on there.But is it really the case? Or the story is up for repeating itself like audiogalaxy and the likes?
May be some of you will say that this mp3 site is a cheesy one and it's not a big deal,but regardless l like that site and have found many very decent and high quality Trance tunes there.l'd would be well gutted if this is an excuse and they will shut down the site....what everyone's opinion about this one?

TA doesnt support illegal filesharing.

Mp3.com died 2 years ago and turned into a power-hungry corporate monster.

www.mp3.com is legal as everyone,"music amateurs ", who is trying to get himself into the light with electronic genre can upload his stuf onto the site and allow users to download it. It is legal cos the producers are there not mainly to make big money ,but mainly to give a listen of his created tracks to you.So there should not be any big issues about any illegal trades of music files...I fact,there used to be PPK who had their tracks there,including their hit Resurection.l downloaded that before it became a big hit off Mp3.com.Now they, for obvious reasons, have taken all their tacks off MP3.com.But there are still good producers there like Trance Control,Dj McKie name but a few.lm quite a fan of this site...hope it's not over with this one!
PS. ..and! it was not closed down two years ago as the last time l used this site was just less than a month ago
Hope what says on the site is the TRUE..it's a waiting game...it remians to be seen

I didn't say it was closed then, I said it died then.

I used to have my tracks shared there too but I decided to leave when they changed the rules almost weekly (you actually had to pay if you wanted to make money... what's the point?) and if you managed to do too well on the charts they accused you of gaming and suspended your entire account (even if there was no proof).

I'm not just saying that because it happened to me (because it didn't) but I knew many many people who got ripped off by them.

Yeah...they used to show how much money the artist had actually made from legitimate sales of their material. You would download a few songs, and after liking something you could buy the mp3.com cd.
Then they decided to change the format, and I noticed that instead of showing how much money they've made it only showed how many times the singles were downloaded (or something to that effect).
I too noticed that artists stopped updating their pages and the site was getting old!
MP3.com was owned by Canadian Pop star Alannis Morisette (spelling? who cares) and is now owned by the ultra huge online conglomerate (monster) CNET.com.
They might be able to spruce the place up but I think its like Napster all over again... it'll never be what it was originally in the good ol' days.

MP3.com was awesome back in the day, it's how I got into EDM...sadly it went to shit, and there were only a couple of good artists on there whereas there used to be a ton. Now it's pretty much gone after being bought by CNET but I don't really care.

Best thing to do if you liked an artist that was on there is to find out their website and see where you can get their music now.

Stay away from that place like the plague! It's full of rip-offs, credit card stealing, and spyware!!!! You're safe here in TA world...
