To All Discogs Users!
Hi guys,
hope this isnt seen as advertising at all, as thats not what it is.
Just wanted to make you all aware of some changes to discogs which will interest any submitter or viewer of info there.
I have been pressing and pressing for weeks to get Hardstyle added as a genre/style to the site, and this has finally been processed for me, so anyone submitting any hardstyle vinyls to the site can now choose the genre from the drop down list, at last! instead of people choosing bloody hard house all the time.
Also, Discogs Version 2 will be launched soon, but it will only start for the hip hop genre on the site to test it, once that test has passed successfully a trance.discogs.com will be launched as well as all other genres! which is fantastic news and that will allow a much better tracklist update section and you will be able to update styles as well.
Just wanted to make you all aware of the changes, discogs is such a useful tool for any trance fan out there and I'm glad to be a part of it.
Oh yes, word of advice, avoid the music forum like the plague, its full of anti-trance biased arseholes that are under the impression that all trance is of DJ Sammy and Scooter style.
Kind Regards,
Simon (Discogs Moderator)

ok mate
I added a release 2 weeks ago but I still can't see it in the discography. I've been told that it's still "pending" now what is that and why do I have to wait?
Simcut congrats my friend about the site, one of my favourites i'm really waiting for the second version (hope it will be as fast as the current version because it's a big problem for low connections )

i like the sound of all the updates, but whats with the subdomain stuff?
what about the problem of cd's or whatever being multiple genres tho?
cant have breaksprogtechhouse.discogs.com really? :/
great site tho anyway and ill be sure to keep using it

I also question the reasoning behind the subdomains. What's the point? Doesn't that just make tracks without easy labels more difficult to place, and split up genres more than necessary? What if there is a house remix on a trance record? Seems a bit strange to me; could you explain?

I don't like the idea of the subdomains either.
Otherwise it sounds good.

by the way, to the guy that has stuff still pending please tell me your username and I shall take a look now and see whats wrong and vote yes on it if its okay
Kind Regards,
