Thumbs up TWO TRIBES Sydney Wrap up.

Ok well 2:30pm thought id kick it off.

What did you all think?

i got there a little later than i wanted, about 1am, had to work at nova then do some live crosses backstage....with that out of the way i met up with everyone and checked out some acts....

brain is a bit fried atm so ill give a detaild accoutn later...
but for me FERGIE absolutley tore it up an was the number 1 set of the night for me!!!! he worked the crowd into a frenzy with some awsome tech trance tunes.....or as he told myself and webby "its fergie house"

Picotto was my close second, Lizard and Pulsar, nuff said i think....

Tomcraft was ripping out som wicked tunes also, with the likes of Traffic etc...

those 3 were my highlights of the night.

production was next to none.... a WAY bigger improvment on last year... with the tribal feel and the palm trees and fire stick thingys.... worked well....

Lighting was amazing!!! and i got caught up getting a lot of photos.. and god damn did they come out well!!

Sound was top notch, no complaints here, except for the massive echo from the back of the room, but thats expected from this type of room, its no Sensation :P

will write more later with som pics

caught the end of them, but was still running aroudn trying to find people, so im not the best person to ask how they went.. but fro mall reports they were wicked...

for some reason the event was a HARDER edge, like the godskitchen was hard tech trance and the suppossed proggy astrofunk was even hard as! wouldnt have minded some progressive like last year

What kind of set did he play? I thought picotto was pretty much all techno nowadays?

Well i had a wicked night

The production wasn't to bad i thought, the sound echoed up the back, but do people really think this is ever going to stop? Every party at homebush has that same sound problem, so i go expecting it, find a good spot on the floor and forget about it

I thought this years was WAY bigger than last years and the year before, it looked like it got a pretty decent turnout.

The lines to get in where a bit of a dissapointment

Ok now onto the sets.

FIrst up it was LUCIEN FOORT! - This guy rocked as expected, pitty i missed half his set lineing up

HYBRID - Good for first half then i lost interest, to much standing around not enough dancing. So i made off to check out the GK room for...

FERGI - OMG im so glad hybrid sucked and i went to see him He was crazy, best set of the night for me!! He really has some skillz, might not mix it like a techno DJ just yet, but he is definatley on his way. His scratching, sampling and multitude of other tricks were just amazing

PICOTTO - Not to bad, not great but he still was pretty good, first half he played the new stuff he is known for, techy stuff which was pretty good then he played his classics for the last part which were great for old times sake

TOMCRAFT - First part of his set i saw was good, but decided to check out the astrofunk room.

LAWRENCE - thought he was starting at 5:30 but he was just finishing up, his set was pretty poor but it looked like he was frustrated with BT setting up.

BT - Sorry but he just sucked, terrible stuff.

I saw a bit of green velvet and he was pretty good, but fergie stole me for that part of the night

Overall a pretty good night and i rate it better than last year. Still not as good as the first TT tho

Well another year, abother Two Tribes.

Yeh, the production this year kicked last years ass! The GK room was simply awsome for such a size room! Those lasers were the best lasers me has seen. Props to the lighting dudes in there, really created an awsome atmosphere!
Even the Astrofunk room was good, except that the visuals are crud. I stil can't see the point of visuals. No one cares anyway, all they do is add more ambient light in the room.

FOr me Lucien was the best. Tribal/Funky Progressive/Breaks, it was awsome. PLEASE SOMEONE HAS TO KNOW THE LAST TRACK HE PLAYED! THAT SONG WAS OFF THE FKN HOOK!

Hybrid started SO well, but kinda died half way through the set.

I only saw the last quarter of Fergie, but OMFG. Watching and listening to him just absolutely f**k up tracks, sample shit from anything, and bah! Made me feel so much less of a dj! He was absolutely rockin.

Picotto started well, died again in the middle like Hybrid, but i wish i saw the end! Lizard and Pulsar

Lawrence was Lawrence, that typical Tech/Prog/Trance stuff. A style of his own, was awsome.

And BT, well . . . im not even gonna try and be nice. He was crap, so we left half way through his set.

Overall a top night. Thanks to all the Syd Posse who turned out. Made the night guys!

And now, 36 hours later and no sleep, im going to bed

just got home and heading to bed now.. but if I had to say one quick thing its that BT was very, very disappointing! I'm not gonna critise him as an artist because he is in fact responsible for some of the greatest electronic tracks ever, but as a DJ - slightly arrogant, bad track selection, boring and mellow (not the kind of stuff u want to hear at 5am when ur trying ur hardest to stay awake).. if he didn't have his big guns like Flaming June and Dreaming to throw in, the set would have been extremely poor. Other than that had an awesome night, good to party with the TA's u know who u are...

Lucien, Hybrid and Picotto did it for me.. phwoar picotto had the crowd at his finger tips when he he played lizard and then into pulser..

for now.... zzZzz

definitely went with no expectations and left thinking 'well im glad i didnt pay'.
Not my type of music, sum random stuff i liked but too hard and techy and just crap in the other arena no1 got me dancing at all! no vibe, but quite good stage setup and lots of normal looking ppl which i didnt expect! i had more fun sitting and chatting but thats just me.
downers of the night: didnt like the music, got burned by a stupid girl waving her ciggy
uppers: nice ppl, vip access and tiesto - traffic!!
