i have one sitting in front of me, and i gave it a shot but i have a feeling i did it terribly wrong (my hands are sore)

dude the shell for the pit or w/e is maaaaad hard
i'm sitting here jabbing at it with a knife almost full force and its not even making marks
note that i've yet to take a bite after about 15 minutes of disection

youre supposed to peel the skin off, and then you have a big ball of the pulp with the big seed in the middle. you basically eat it, till the seed is "naked". either that, or you can slice the meat of with a knife and cut it up into piece, to eat with a fork.

I like to cut it lengthwise on opposite ends so I end up with two bowl-shaped sections. Then I take a knife and cut the bowl-shaped parts into a grid of sorts, turn it inside out, and eat each little cube. The rest of the mango is pretty easy to eat from there on out. Best part is sucking on the seed.

Cut. Bite. Chew. Swallow. Enjoy.

i tried the cut lengthwise and get two bowl shapes thingy...didn't really work
i couldn't get the side separated cause its been in the fridge and wasn't aaaaaaall that ripe to begin with
anyways, after prying with literally all my might, i split it open almost directly down the center
so i ended up with a giant lima bean from the very core (the seed) and two bowls with a nice half a shell of the pit each, which was very strong and very firmly attached to the meat
(note, the shell was really really tough, i couldn't even stab my knife into it)
so after a while i managed to carve out the shell, then make grid-like incisions in the two bowls
lastly, i like turned it inside out kinda (reversed the conclave) so little cubes of mango meat were sticking off of it
and holy shit it worked really well
i'm proud
i want a cookie

Just wondering how you came upon this Mango...

asked my dad to buy one a few days ago cause i had one like three months ago and it was good, and i resolved to buy more and figure out how to eat them
that time i ate it more like a pear perhaps
