Best car stereo setup for playing Trance.

I want to upgrade my car stereo and need some advice.

What kind of subwoofer enclosure is best for Trance music; sealed or bass reflex?

Sealed. All the ported shit sounds terrible and boomy. 12" at the max. Larger cones have trouble keeping up with some of the faster beats.

I dont think sealed is a good idea, a lot of trance tunes have bass on them, So I sugest you get the bass reflex ones, Its all about the bass dude.

Sealed ones still have bass.

I had 2 12" pioneers a while back in a tightly sealed box. Sounded outstanding.

If there is any iumportant piece to a great system it is the crossover. I had one in my last system and it makes your bass a lot cleaner and the highs scream. definitely worth it.

Yeah. I have a sealed Infinity perfect 12 and its awesome. I had an Inifinity perfect 10 in there in a ported box but I didnt like the sound. Put it in a sealed box and liked it so much I bought the bigger one. Its magical.

Well, Which ever setup you think is right, Go for it, I don't drive, But if I had one, I go for the bass reflex, Cause, I'm all about the bass.

10" subs tend to be a little more accurate than 12" subs, but its hardly noticeable. i have 2 12's in a sealed box running off of a 400 watt amp (which isnt very much power, im feeding the subs about a quarter of what they can handle), kenwood headunit, MB Quart components up front, pioneer rear speakers, all powered by a kenwood amp. it sounds awesome, albeit the subs are slightly underpowered. check out the 10", 12" sound difference to see what you like. Also check out different enclosures for your subs (sealed, ported, and bandpass).

I got 3 10s in a sealed box, but you are best off going to sound advice, and getting their opinion on what is best.

Well im running a Coustic 12" sealed and am pretty happy with what it offers for now. I had two 10"s B52 Transonic subs that were ok but just not deep enough, so one 12" or two should do you. As for power handeling is up to your budget and liking, asit a matter of ludness yu would feel comfortable with.

A very very good place that knows audio gear from A to Z would be www.caraudioaustralia.com they have forums etc and would be able to help you pretty quick id say as theyre dedicated audio gurus with alot of experience.

Have fun and let us know how you go with the results

Somewhat i agree but when you have two 15"s the sound gear becomes not practical as headaches etc accurs, so go for something you woul dbe able to handel as a everyday tunes supplier
