TYPES OF TRANCE: How to tell the difference

Hey,
I have trouble distinguishing between the types of trance. Here's what I've heard of before:
-Trance
-Progressive Trance
-Epic Trance
-Cyber Trance
-Progressive House
-Dark Trance
-NRG
-Total Horseshit Trance: e.g. ATB, DjJurgen, etc.

How would you describe each sub-genre and what DJs are typical of each? If you have a better/more widely accepted breakdown, let us know.

I'm so lost on this. Sometimes a DJ is called Trance and others call him/her Progressive. WTF does progressive mean? I would call Christopher lawrence Trance but where does that put Oakie. What's Judge Jules? Mars calls himslelf Cybertrance, but i figure he made that up. Is Dark trance analogous to Deep House? NRG is easy. What's Sasha & Digweed?

Please help guys. i know you all are experts in this matter.

THANKS SO MUCH.

Peace.

--Ian

PS I'm listening to Lucien Foort BBC Essential Mix. It's EXCELLENT. I don't know how to describe it, though .

Don't forget psy-trance and Goa, my two favourite types. Although to be honest they are proper underground.

Yo,
I found this on Google:
http://www.ishkur.com/features/music/guide.htm

It pretty much answers our questions! The guy cracks me up too, but he's a bit of an elitist.

Hmmm yeahthis is a cool prog but he is wrong in many ways......for expample he states that Binary Finary is progressive and thats FARfrom right....he also says in the info that progressive trance shouldnt be called trance cause it so "poppy".........
He states that the person that created epic tranceshould be shot...
And he never ebven mentions Uplifting trance which is a big part of the trance genres....... I dont like that
