is it true you are sent home from school if you swear in shcool in Canada? :S
also i heard that you can't wear what you want and that you have to get written permission to go away from the lessons (even if you only need to go to the toilet..).
sounds weird to me
is this the case in all the schools?

You call that harsh?????????!!!!!!!
when Iw as in school in Germany I had my Fingers smacked with a wodden pointing stick for laughing in class and if I mouthed at the teacher they would wack me then my parents would come and wack me. Canadian school are the most Leaniant (sp?) schools int he world. If I raise my hand at a teenie bopper for mouthing off at me they call the cops. 20 day suspensions do not discipline an individual unless it is at work and without pay.

no, no and no. If you are in elementary or junior high, you ask for permission to go pee or whatever. If you are in grade 11 or 12, we just left when we wanted to because they would know we were more reponsible for our eduction. But i guess the toilet thing must differ between schools. Um as for swearing, they dont do much in high school, but in junior high or elementary they would probably send you outside the classroom and let you sit there. Really, i dont see that as punishment, its more like a break from class
You can wear what you want unless you goto a private school that has a dress code, most likely uniforms.

well this only applies to elementary/secondary school when you're underaged..

dunno about that.. in my HS experience teachers were pretty 'lax about swearing.. they'll give you a warning or whatever. if they're totally stuck up with the rules then usually the school has the ability to send you straight home. (think it varies with the school board..)

I think that only applies to catholics schools and some public schools.. where they require you to wear uniforms. And most uniform schools are bitches about the uniform because they want you to buy shit exclusively from only a special uniform clothing manufacturer.

i dont think you need written notes for going to the washroom, just verbal permission usually..
in order to skip a class you need to have a note from your parents/guardians. I think it has more to do with "legal" issues cause the school needs to know where you are during school hours.
That's why turning 18 was great in highschool; you're considered an adult by that age & can sign yourself out

Well, by the end of "High school we needed a "hall pass" in order to be outside of the classroom during classtime ie. when u go to the washroom. These damn things were so easy to forge it was not funny.

I can tell you that in jr highs these days, there are some pretty strict rules about clothing.
belly shirts arent allow on girls
theres some rule about your inseam being the length of your arm(so no mini skirts or short shorts)
no beer or tobacco shirt
no obscenties on shirts(FCUK have been victimized)
they make you change into your gym/phys ed clothing if you break the rules.
rules are usually set by local school boards, not nationally.

hmmm, feel somewhat safer now, but the girl who told me this had been in canada last year attending to a public high school. but yeah guess it's different in different places then.
but the problem is, i have been placed in a catholic school that will be like very strict or?
