General football question: Should passive offside be abolished?

What's your opinion?

Many football experts think passive offside should be abolished because it's to complicated and is connected with to much work for the referees.

I find it SHOULDN'T be abolished because it's sensible to differentiate aktive and passive offside.

passive offside: when some player is on offside but he don't participate in action... e.x. van Nisterlooij in the game with Czechs

it shouldn't be abolished, it's fine as it is. if you're not interfering with the play why should it be disallowed? it would punish the attacking side most of the times.

Offside

Yes, we're talking about world football.

Offside is when a player is not allowed to continue his move because he's received the ball in a position beyond all defenders (so it's just him, the goal and, most times, the goal-keeper as well). In order to avoid players to stay in this position (which could make the game a bit boring).

I think the rule is alright the way it is.
