Liveset Rips vs Vinyl Rips

I say that the majority of tracks sound better live. There are a few where instead you miss some elements that make the track but for the most part I'd say that when the liveset version is a good length it makes tracks better.

Tracks like I'm Alone (Ronski Speed Mix) were just so much better live than the actual song sounds. Even when the crowd isn't in the background and the DJ doesn't use a load of effects I think that songs are just much more energetic when heard live, even if just through an MP3.

I prefer the live rip mainly because of the crowd.

The crowd just makes a good song great.

A lot of rips though, especially ASOT and Global DJ Broadcast don't have crowds anymore though. I agree though that the crowd really gives it a feel.

Especially the remix of Lexicon 4 - Reach Me, I believe it was the Svenson and Gielen vs. Paul van Dyk mix or something like that. Man when that breakdown hits and you lightly hear the crowd in the background I could just die. I got a vinly rip of it labeled as someone elses remix and it was nowhere near the same calibur....

Well some people can't afford such an expensive habbit, especially when they can't find themselves a job

Word.

There aren't many big events in my area due to certain restrictions. Livesets and liveset rips are the closest things to being there.

Live.

The varying bpms and tracks before/after the tune really have an affect on how the tune sounds. Plenty of mix-cds give certain tracks a certain feeling/aura about them, yet when listened to by themselves they feel as if they're lacking something.
