Help please....Sorry to bother you again!

Sorry to ask again, but now that the purpose of the strobe light is cleared up, the light should appear still when the turntable is pitched at 0, I need to ask:

The big dots still appear to flow backwards when pitched at 0. How do i adjust this, so that the dots remain still?

if your decks arent that good or old it might just be that theyre not tuned that well

Smoking ..umm..something

you probably need to open up your turntable and
calibrate your pitch... if that doesnt work
*probably the pitch is old and you'd need to get it replaced...
guys correct me if im wrong

to be honest it aint important to have your decks sit on zero.

think about it do you ever actualy need to reed the percentage its at? no you just move the fader about till its right.

it is very useful having them properly calibrated, especially if you use the pitch for minute adjustments.
Pain in the ass having 2 zeros too.

i dont see how its usefull...

you can make the miniture adjustments no mater where zero is set to on the slider. what actual differance is there if your zero is at the 0.5% line or the 0% line? none.

exactly , its really not that important unless you rip vinyls. but then if you do use your other turntable.

my pitch slider on one of my tables is totally wacky. when its near the 0 mark the pitch wavers. is this happening to you also? if not dont' worry about it. if so i guess get your slider replaced or avoid the 0 mark, like i do...

Ok

You are pitched at -0.1%, slightly off the centre (0%) mark where the led comes on.
You have both faders open, and it drifts slightly and needs a tiny adjustment riding the pitch rather than pushing the record.
You pull through the pitch slider through the 0 point until the led comes off the other side.
But as there are two zeros ( the second one being set at +1%) the second you go into the + scale and the led lock is off, the pitch DROPS about 1%, to less than it was the other side of the led, and the beats drift further apart which is exactly the opposite of what you wanted to do.
It means you have to ride the slider up to maybe +2% then back down to the original ish area?

Its the first thing i check in a new club on their technics, and it IS a pain in the ass. You have to deal with it and its not a vast problem, but it is a hassle.

i dont get why there would be two zeros? surely when you adjust the pitch internaly it it moves the whole scale about. in the same way as you calibrate voltmeters.

no because when the led is on at that point it is 0

So if the 0 point is spot on at 0, but the rest of the calibration and scale is shifted slightly you get jumps and therefore 2 zero points

but don't you only have to worry about this if you are using the older tables, the ones with the 0 pitch lock within the slider (that notch where the zero is)??? one does not have to worry about two zeros one the newer decks with the pitch lock button, am i right about this???
