1 - Where is John Edwards? Every since the DNC, and the whole Clinton surgery thing, he hasnt made it in the headlines for some time. He should be out there doing his thing.

2 - Inviting "top-level advisors" from former campaigns. With too many of these tools, all you get is dissenting opinion on what issues to talk about. KISS: Keep it Simple Stupid. Look at the RNC, all they did was hammer away the idea of "security" into everyones head and it worked to an extent. By trying to engage all the issues at one time only makes it too much to care about for the average joe schmoe.

3 - Relasing weak attacks. Anyone watch the "fortunate son" video? Its more or less a bush version of the swift boat ads, but the impression given is a joke. With all due respect to the armed services, Bush leapfrogged over 150 applicants in the selection of the national guard. 150! Come on give me a break, its not like 1500 or 15,000. And they say he missed a physical, as if it was as mysterious as a UFO landing! A film student coulda made a better ad.

But then again, keep up the good work so Bush can win. Mohahaha

What different directions are these advisors pulling him? Elaborate, please. From my perspective, he's doing exactly what he should be doing - focusing on the domestic agenda and keeping the focus (even the foreign policy to some extent) encircled around a domestic heading.

This is smart politics on his part, because the majority of Americans, according to polls, WANT the President to focus on a better domestic agenda.

Kerry didn't release the attacks, the 527's did. And BTW, 150 applicants may not be a big fucking deal to you, but it might just be a big deal to the relatives of someone who didn't get selected who's head got blown off in Vietnam. And those same relatives might be a little pissed off at the fact that their lost son/daughter had a much higher entrance score than Bush's, which was 25% BTW.

So what's the problem again?

On this point, I have to say, "Yeah, where the hell has he been?" Seriously, Opus, you can't deny that Edwards has been all but completely absent for the last 2 months. I don't remember reading his name much in the press over the same amount of time either. I don't know where he is, but I wonder if Terry McCauliffe is keeping him on the d/l because of his trial lawyer roots? Nevertheless, I think it's a perfectly reasonable question to ask.

Just for posterity. It wasn't a 527. It was the DNC. So it was a Terry McAuliffe production...pretty much the same people involved as those on the Kerry campaign.

Cheney has always been less visible than W, but he's been out stumping if you've been watching TV. Certainly more visible than Edwards. Point is, there was alot of hype around Edwards when Kerry picked him as a running mate, and ever since he's been virtually non-existent. He's the prettiest face they have to put on TV and he's nowhere to be seen.

what has cheny been doing? didnt you hear him a few days ago? he said a vote on john kerry would invite another terrorist attack. Although it is just another attack, small things like those add up.
Edwards should at least be out there saying something to get his voice heard.

note how bush and his vp aint campaigning together? i bet its so they can launch seperate attacks and cover more battleground states

Possibly, who knows. As biznology pointed out, you don't hear Cheney at every stop either. But my point stands - Edwards is not the focus, though I do tend to agree with the implication that he should be more involved. He is THE major asset to this campaign, and he should be utilized more.

As for the trial lawyer stuff, I noticed that the vote for tort reform passed through the House (big surprise there), but it's highly unlikely to hit the Senate until after the election. Delay and other GOP hardliners, however, have made it clear that they want this to rustle a few feathers, however, and want to play a little politics with the issue. I think they should be careful with it, as I had pointed out some of the discrepencies with the GOP Tort Reform arguments here:

Does it hurt businesses? Sure, maybe a little. But certainly not NEAR as much as the GOP pundits would want us to believe. I'm all for a little bit of reform, but it is our fundamental right as a citizen, and a fundamental check and balance of our capitalistic society to be able to strike a business equally hard for blatantly and willingly doing wrong to us.

See, that's the funny thing to me, corporations have been given rights that are nearly equivalent to normal citizen rights(by some court case a while back that I can't recall). But when a corporate business becomes criminal, for some reason they feel their parallel rights to citizens are exempt, and that for some reason in that given instance they are ABOVE equal rights shared amongst the citizens. Why is that?

last i saw edwards, he was walking the streets of a neighboring town examining the damage from our worst flood since 1916. I think that was friday or saturday. sorry we're not getting the press coverage.
