That night was f'n hardcore!!
The opener was great, and PVD was great as well.
I haven't seen PVD before, but after last night, and the whole experience, I can say he is #1 on my list.
Blows my mind!

PvD
Wow...
This was a pretty incredible night. I flew in from Seattle, and arrived at 9PM, and shortly thereafter headed to downtown LA.
I was not, in the least, expecting PvD to play from 1AM to 4AM, a 3 hour set in LA on a Thursday. Man am I tired!
This was quite the set from PvD-- I've seen him a few times over the summer, and he's played most of the same tracks, certainly not in the same order, and throwing in here and there, new music.
Last night, I can honestly say, for his first hour, I'm not sure I recognized a single tune-- the whole set was great in my opinion.
A very cool remix of For an Angel played last night... in addition to the tracks mentioned above in the thread, I also recognized Cosmic Gate - Bilingual.
My ears are ringing too loudly right now for me to remember the other tracks I recognized... so if I can I'll post again later.
This is 1 of 4 PvD shows I have set in the next 40 days... see some of you in San Diego tonight?

All I gotta say, once he began playing techno, FUCK!!!! I went insane!!!! He played like 30-45 min worth towards the middle (right after 2:30).... FUCK!!!!! I was screaming TECHNO TECHNO TECHNO!!!! hehehehehe Once PVD took over, I didnt stop dancing until it was over @ 4pm!!!! What's up with the club cutting the sound on him? hehehehehehe I remember being right below him and he kept on yelling NO BASS, NO BASS... I do agree, the last 15 min where like whatevers... I was too tired of jumping, screaming, and dancing my ass off by then... But I stuck till the end! hehehe
The two songs stuck to my head..... MURDER WAS THE BASS and THE WHITE ROOM... Fuck!!!! Oh yeah, and that new remix of FOR AN ANGEL....
I don't like Jerry... That's why I showed up at 12 cuz I knew Jerry was going to be like whatevers...
And, was it just me, or did the Mayan didn't look SOLD OUT Packed!!!! For the first time in a long time there was dancing room!!!!! YAY!!!! Oh and FUCK THE SCALPERS!!! Too many outside!

Yeah I think cause PVD sold out last year *a lot* of ppl bought extra tix. LOTS of people trying to get rid of their tickets, including a friend of mine...
I'm wondering if Armin playing so recently to PVD that a lot of ppl who would've gone to PVD went instead to Armin... I actually was going to bail since I was tired from the Armin weekend already but a few of my friends were going so being the lemming I am I went too. Glad I did.
Thanks for the comment, rudeBoy. It was a pretty good night. Maybe one day PVD will actually play on a SATURDAY in Los Angeles. Or maybe not.
Thursday... geez I'm too old for Thursdays, lol...
BTW did anyone watch Intellect? It's a dvd documentary on DJs and EDM. But mostly on EDM DJs. Anyway, it's got a short interview with Bonham. Man, that guys is fookin HUGE!!! You'd mistake him for the doorman, not the DJ! Those arms look like they can break a turntable in two... not just vinyl records, haha!! But he seemed like a really nice guy in the interview, and he only uses the pitch slider to make adjustments (never touches the record other than cueing, nice!). He said he's known for his seamless mixing - which I will vehemently concur! And one last note from that interview: he loves being a warmup DJ. Very cool...
