Drug testing @ Earthcore
heard theres gonna be some drug tests at Earthcore.... now before anyone goes off assuming this is a bad idea, read through with an open mind.
the health department has FINALLY come to their senses, realising that the drugs are apart of the scene and no matter how many drug rings they bust, it isn't going to slow it down.
their new approach is more of an acceptance rather than a need to rid the scene of substances. their proposal is to screen subjects attending Earthcore, testing the potency and danger levels of substances consumed. now this propasal does not mean they will be punishing drug users, rather ensuring their safety making sure levels of substances isn't going to kill them
I for one think this is a very good idea, and for once they are finally starting to see light that party drugs and dance-music will never be seperated. it has already caused tremendous controversy on moral and ethical grounds. it is a step forward imo.

Definitely. If the anti-drug campaigners are sincere when they say that their main intention is to save lives, then they'll see the value in this program. No-one's going to be "encouraged" to take drugs just because they have a testing crew there, but at the same time it has the potential to save lives. How could anyone - pro or anti drug - consider this to be a bad idea?

nah not necessarily
this is pretty much a free pill tester which is already available for people wanting to test mdma levels in pills
all this proposal is offering, is a free way for everyone to test their gear without having to fork out money at the chemist to buy a pill tester.
people out there (like me) cbf testing pills and hope for the best really, something stupid i know... i think youth makes us beleive we're indestructable

Er, that's what it tests for. Stuff in the pill (like PMA, ketamine etc.) that isn't MDMA and that could be dangerous. Basically a litmus test for undesirable chemicals.

lol funnily enough the police apparently do not want to authorise this. Earthcore will co-operate as long as the Police back the proposal, but it seems every man and his dog is against this seemingly good idea.
