Need mixer with send/receive...

Hey everyone...
Well this is my first post on this forum and iam just wondering if you guys could help me out with something.

Iam after a new mixer that will go the distance and has send and receive so i can run an effects mixer through it. otherwise are there any good quality mixers with a heap of assignable channel effects on board. I am a feind for effects processing and have been looking lately at getting either a stanton smx401/501 or maybe a vestax pcv275.

if there are any others with what iam after that are worth a mention let me know your thaughts

money is not really a huge thing at the moment as iam after suggestions but iam not made of it.

the style of music i play ranges from trance, hard trance, acid and most electronic style

Thanx!

If you want something where you can have amazing effects, and be able to assign them to any channel, look into getting the Denon X1500...

You will still be able to hook up an effects unit to it aswell.. but the matrix system on that mixer is absolutely top notch..

It looks ok but i have heard a few all over the place reviews about it. Also whats it against the DJM600 they seem the same also the Denon X1500 seems like its made to go hand in hand with cd decks.

also what is a good quality effects processor that you may know of?

you've heard bad things about the x1500??

Man.. this mixer is IMO way better than the DJM600... as for a quality effects unit... Pioneer EFX-1000...

The only thing that the x1500 has wrong right now is delayed faders, and that really only affects DJ's that do alot of scratching

I've gotta pump my 275. It has pre-EQ and post-EQ send capability for each channel at the flick of a switch. It's an all-around great mixer, especially for dance music.

Do you use the FX sends on this? How well do they work? The Empath is the only mixer I have heard good reviews regarding the FX loop. I know a lot of mixers have FX loops but end up sucking pretty bad or else are just hard to use effectivly.

EDIT: About the X-1500, perhaps you have heard about the fader delay problem. This is supposed to be fixed in the next update if it is not already. While the X-1500 is a great matching to the Denon mixers, it shold also work great with turntables. People hate on the DJMs because they are pretty old and the sound quality is not really up their with other mixers of that price range.

ecler nuo5, denon x1500 are the two kings of the hill at the moment with regards to effect mixers. both outclass the djm600 simply on the new technology they bring.

about the send/return on the pcv275, i don't think it sounds great at all.. the rest of the mixer is class though. a lot of people like the allen & heath mixers, and they also have send/return. i am not keen on the faders or x-fader at all though, pretty useless if you plan on doing any cutting/scratching. the sound quality is phenominal though.

effects units you should look at are: pioneer efx500/1000 if you are loaded, korg kaoss pad 2.

I have the Vestax PCV-275, and it's nice, although I haven't used the send/recieve feature yet.

Exodus: that's basically what it is, you can select which channel(s) you want to send (and on some mixers like the PCV-275, whether you want to send before or after you run it through the EQs), then you plug the SEND port on the mixer to the input on your effects unit, then plug the output on the effect unit into the RECEIVE port on the mixer. You can adjust the level of the send output using the SEND knob, and the level of the signal coming back into the mixer using the RECEIEVE knob. This allows you to adjust how much effect you hear, between completely dry (no effect) and the full effect.

the efx-1000 isn't released yet. I don't know why you guys would be suggesting something that doesn't even have a release date yet.

speaking of send/return and the pcv275...

much due to your rec's i just ordered the 275...

right now i'm just used to using my efx500 in between my mixer and my speakers...

how does send/return change the effects game? do you get more control/can you do cooler stuff?
