The follow up to 'ice cream' hits the stores finally on December 17th. 2 mixes on the j00f recordings release, of which I got the promo to last week.
John's mix is very much in the same style as his mahadeva mix, both structurally and in the kick sample. it works very well and leaving the main melody until 5 minutes is both clever and daring, definitely one best played loud - 9/10
Miika Kuisma's remix is more melodic, with a great ambience to it, the highlight being a great breakbeat at 3:30 ish. 9/10 for this one, very impressed with it
Both are really worth owning and both original and non-cookie cutter which makes them very good.

Heard the J00f Mix, and I think the dark, psyinspired soundscape he introduced on the Mahadeva remix works even better here. Plus, I'm a sucker for that superb, pounding kickdrum he has put together here as well. Good shit, and refreshingly edgy stuff in the sea of fluff that trance is drowning in nowadays. Now to hear Miika's version.

interesting! can't wait to hear this one.! joof recordings seems to be my fav label. putting out lovely tune after another and another.
yeah since they've sent me promos to review this year there's been some superb stuff, esp one man army, beetseekers & this release, plus AR52 - Enigma and steve birch's tunes... much better label atm than stuff like anjuna & armada imho

i totally agree. and then there's the new miika kuisma ep coming out soon too, which is brilliant (as you can expect). i'm a big fan of the joof recordings sound. it's what i love in trance. i have bought most of their releases on cd too. i'm only missing a few newest ones, and i'll definitely order them soon too and probably most if not all the stuff they'll release in the future.
