Good set of vinyls for beginner?

Hi,

Just bought my first ever decks! I'm now looking for some vinyls. I've seen loads of vinyl's for sale on ebay. Is this set of vinyls good for TRANCE. I don't like hard house or house that much, just trance. Just thought i would ask your experts to make sure the tracks listed are all trance and are actually good.

Sorry if i posted in the wrong section.

Chris.

Vinyl Selection

The very first rule of DJing is only play what you like. If you play what other people like you won't get anywhere. That said, I wouldn't buy those vinyls.

Thanks. I like any trance, literally any kind of trance. What would you suggest doing? How did you get your first trance vinyls?

I've already bought Art Of Trance - Madagascar, Dumonde - Never Look Back & Alex Morph - Flaming Clouds.

Well one thing you learn the hard way about buying records is never, ever, buy anything you haven't heard. So you want to listen to lots of livesets, trance compilations, radio and occasionally music TV. Try to listen to samples on websites and things like that. If you hear something you like, find it on single and buy it.

A lot of online record stores let you listen to samples, then buy the single, which is really helpful, as you don't have to trawl round shops looking for singles, and you know what the track sounds like. If you like a tune by a producer, try and find the artist album the tune is from, because there's a good bet you'll like a lot of the other tracks on the album.

Most of the records I have I found digging through crates at used music stores.

I found alot of gems in there, for prices that were unbelievable.

I usually find out about most of my stuff by listening to internet radio (www.ets-global.org) or downloading livesets (www.djmixes2k.com)

And just about every record store online has samples.

And don't buy those records from that auction haha.

Two records can help you phase-match, and you can mess about with the structure of the track and do a live re-edit if you're good enough.

If you're starting out, I seriously recommend you buy this book:

http://www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos...7760436-4933469

...it's absolutely full of everything you need to know about DJing.

its quite easy to learn to betamatch with hard house or pumping trance cos your pretty much dealing with a steady bassline. maybe you should pick up a couple of these tracks to help you practice?
